three how to train your dragon movies and some takeout later, it was finally time for clay to leave. to say they were both upset would be an understatement. after all this time, it felt nice to finally be able to see and spend time with each other.

they were both at the front door, astrid inside facing out and clay outside facing in. he opened his arms to which astrid immediately jumped into.

astrid felt her eyes start to water and she tried her hardest to hold back the tears. however, a few tears escaped and landed on clay's shoulder.

he felt the impact of the tears on his shirt, but it only made him hug her tighter. "you alright?" his voice was soft, like he knew why she was crying. he did, because he felt the same way.

"it was just hard losing you the first time and being with each other right now just seems so surreal." her voice was slightly raspy from the silent crying.

clay pulled them apart, hands on either shoulder. he stared directly at her, a slight frown on his face as he watched her wipe the tears. "i know, i know. i'm here now tho and we can see each other more often. remember what you said? act like it never even happened."

astrid chuckled at his words and mentally cursed herself for being so sensitive towards him. they hugged again, but not as long as before. clay departed with a smile on his face, excited for what's to come.

okay so basically i got to her house and first off all, she was beautiful like sixteen year old me would be stomping the fucking ground. so yeah it wasn't even awkward like i expected it to be ???? we caught up a little and talked about our lives and stuff then she asked if we could make a promise or pact or whatever and i said yeah so basically it's that we act like she never went away and then we watched the httyd movies ALL THREE OF THEM and god it was just like old times. her cat luna LOVED me and apparently she doesn't love many new people. so yeah after the movies ended it was late so i said i had to go and we were at her door and i was standing outside facing her and she was inside facing me then we hugged and she started crying and i was like oh fuck but she was crying because it was hard losing me and she didn't wanna lose me again AND I WAS GONNA CRY WITH HER but i didn't and i just reassured her then we hugged again and i left
