Taehyung looked at the pile of torn clothing and frowned. Respects be hanged, he needed to get Sunny and go after Jungkook. He was about to run off into the direction she went when the cabin door opened and Hoseok emerged, dressed, and looking like he had just showered.

"Taehyung," he mumbled as his eyes fell on the vampire. "Why are you here?"

Taehyung grit his teeth in impatience. "Later, wolf. Get your pack together. Jungkook is in trouble."

Hoseok's eyes flashed and as Taehyung ran off to find his wife, the werewolf shifted and ran through the camp, calling his pack to his side.

No one ignored his call, every able wolf rushing over amidst a cacophony of yips and barks. Jimin came trotting over to Hoseok and lowered his head in respect.

"Alpha, what's the emergency?"

"A member of our pack is in trouble," said Hoseok, loud enough for the entire pack to hear. "I must warn you that we are probably going to be up against a formidable foe, one most of us have never encountered. But we must keep our senses sharp. Follow my lead and obey my orders."

Jimin was close to Hoseok's heels as the pack took off. He would be key to tracking Jungkook's scent and he wasn't about to be the last wolf out of the gate.

Taehyung and Sunny rushed after them, passing up the back of the pack and slowing to keep pace with Hoseok. None of them were about to let their friend and brother face this enemy alone.

"Aw, isn't this just too perfect?" Fixer laughed and his voice echoed through the snow-laden trees. "Do you still doubt me, Fenton? Look! She's even got that wolf ready to defend her. What do you want to bet he's got the wolfie hots for her?"

Derrick was shoved forward by Fixer's gun, pressed in between his shoulder blades. His eyes shifted from Jaci to the giant black wolf slowly stalking towards them. He had to think of something to keep Jaci safe.

Jaci found herself being shielded by Jungkook, and while she felt better being near him, she was now worried for both of their lives.

"Let's have a little wager, shall we?" called Fixer towards the wolf, his leathery face folding up into a sinister smile. "I'll let you have at this failure of a Hunter, and if you win, I leave with no one else having to die. But if he wins, well, rest assured you won't be the first one killed."

His laugh made Jaci's blood run cold. Behind him stood the she-wolf, shifted and quietly waiting for her chance to dart into the fray. Jaci felt anger, and even a shred of hatred for the werewolf who had attacked her, and made light of her pain.

"I'm not the one who should be worried about being killed," growled Jungkook, his bushy tail low and dragging in the snow. "

"So brave," laughed Fixer. "Well, we'll see. Hey, girl, you should come stand over here so I won't have to walk so far to slit your throat."

Derrick's hand inched towards his waist to grab his knife. But as his luck normally went, Fixer spied the slight movement and grabbed Derrick's arm, shoving it up between his shoulders.

Fixer leaned close and spoke into Derrick's ear. "Cute. You think you can get anything by me. I would have thought you would have learned better after I followed you up this forsaken mountain. You're stupid, Fenton. You deserve to die at the hands of the creature you should have killed twenty years ago. Now, go fight for your life."

With brute strength, Fixer shoved Derrick forward so hard that he fell face-first into the snow.

Jaci watched with terror-filled eyes as Derrick struggled to get to his feet, shaking the fresh pain out of his arm, and lowering his stance to fight.
