"Step one, you leave your group of friends."
As the surroundings came into view, I felt the sharp pain in my neck shoot up and almost knock me out. I heard Klaus' groans coming from my side and in the distance, I saw two figures.
"Are you alright?" a familiar voice asked.
"Dylan?"
"Yeah, you called me. Alyssa's here too," he replied as Alyssa rushed over.
Dylan tended to Klaus while Alyssa gave me a bloodbag to drink from so I could heal faster.
"What happened? Who's Sheila Winston or whatever?" Alyssa questioned.
"Doesn't matter," Klaus groaned from beside me.
"She's basically the worst kind of vampire that can exist, she turned us," I explained as we got up.
"And her decorations?" Alyssa points to the bodies hung on the trees.
"Yeah, that's what I meant by the 'worst kind of vampire'."
We knew staying there wasn't safe so we sped off from the sight to the outskirts of the forest. The thought of Sheila being free only meant trouble, a lot of it. I knew she didn't forgive my dad for not heeding her and in turn, staking her and the only way to get her revenge was by hurting us and the people we cared about.
"What are we going to do?" Alyssa asked.
"Well a stake can't kill her so we have to look for alternatives," I replied. "Also take care of the people you love, Sheila might hate Klaus and I, but she does love creating a mess."
"How are we going to protect them if they don't know what they're being protected from?" Dylan added.
"They don't have to," Klaus stated firmly.
We looked at each other, a mutual understanding passing between us. We had to kill her, for good this time.
"We need a plan," I state.
"I have one," Klaus replied.
All eyes were focused on him. Klaus couldn't meet our eyes, however. I knew this look. He had this look when he came up with plans that work, but with a price.
"Step one, you leave your group of friends."
It took a second for me to realise what he meant and when I did, I refused. I couldn't do it. I heard Alyssa whimper at the idea, even she had to leave her friends, even her twin brother.
"There has to be another way," I demanded.
"I know damn well there is, Vin." Klaus replied, squaring me up, "For now, we have to leave them. Not doing so puts them at greater risk of being found out by Sheila. Even your blondie."
I hated to admit that he was right, but he had a point. We didn't have a full proof plan so this had to be our first step, pretending we didn't have anyone to care about so Sheila wouldn't hurt them.
Alyssa and I met each other's gaze. This was going to be hard, but we had to do it. The only problem was, how?
A/N : The double Vinnie chapter is intentional to understand what happened after Klaus and Vinnie passed out. It also gets the plot going.
