She screeched, grabbing her head in agony.

The image of Josh's dead body flashed across my eyes once again. No matter how hard I tried to forget it, it kept coming back and I was reminded of how weak I was against Sheila. She brought me to this abandoned lot on the other side of the woods from where we entered. Seemed like she was living there.

"Your friends must be worried about you," her voice came from a distance. I couldn't make out where she was but I know she can hear me and my racing heart. Vampire hearing sucked. "I just need a little bit of your blood and then I'll let you go, but your friends must promise to drop their weak attempts to kill me," she continued. I grunted in response.

She sped over to me, her icy eyes burning into mine. I tried my best to maintain the gaze, hoping she would back off. She didn't.

Her eyes trailed down my face to my neck. I could see she was fighting the urge to drain me of blood but that would mean pissing Vinnie off, and then he'd definitely come for her. "This is only going to hurt a little," she says, lifting the sleeve of my hoodie up my arm and bringing it close to her mouth. Her fangs appear and she hisses softly. I shut my eyes, desperately pleading for Vinnie to barge through the giant doors of the lot and save me.

I wince as her fangs penetrate my skin and my blood gets sucked into her mouth. I didn't know how much she needed but she showed no signs of stopping. I tried shifting and she stopped. My arm was dripping in blood and I saw two holes on my forearm from where her fangs pierced through my skin. I rolled down my sleeve and met her gaze. She was wiping my blood off her face and even then, she was smirking.

I didn't see any signs of her changing in any way, she looked the same. Did it work? Almost immediately, she dropped to the ground. She screeched, grabbing her head in agony. The sight of her in pain should have been enjoyable but I was terrified. If it had worked and she was able to turn into a werewolf, she could kill me instantly. "RUN! GET OUT OF HERE!" She bellowed, still fighting her pain and clutching her head. I took off.

I had no idea where I was heading but I ran, as far and as fast as I could go. My hands reached into my back pocket for my phone and called Vinnie. It rang for a while before I heard his voice on the other side. "Pick me up, I don't know where I am," I explained as best as possible about where I was and told him I was heading east. The early morning sun was just rising and it gave me a general direction of where to go.

My legs were on fire and my lungs felt like collapsing. I wanted to just fall to the ground and let Sheila get to me. I heard distant howling in the same direction as the lot I had just run from and knew it was Sheila. It worked. She was now the most dangerous creature to walk Janesville.
