I begged, holding his hands in mine as I met his gaze.

We were back to the stage of planning how to kill Sheila. Sitting around Alyssa's room, we stared at each other's blank expressions with the hope that an idea, a full proof plan of sorts, would pop into our heads. Due to my overwhelming hatred for Sheila for what she had put Vinnie and Klaus through, I was starting to get impatient when nobody was suggesting ideas. I paced back and forth, praying something would change but to no avail.

"I know you guys won't support this idea, but it's the best we've got," Klaus started. All our attention was focused on him. It didn't matter whether we liked it or not, it was an idea, and I was all ears.

"We could use Sarah as bait to lure her out," he finished. Vinnie immediately shut him down, pissed that his brother could even suggest such a thing. "Vinnie, calm down. He might be onto something," I responded, pulling him down beside me on the bed.

He looked at me, shocked. I knew why; he didn't want Sheila to hurt me. I loved how he always wanted to protect me, but I didn't need protection, I hoped. "She's my grandmother, it kills me to even say that out loud, but you guys didn't see how she looked at me in the lot yesterday," I began. "When she started her transformation after drinking my blood, she told me to run, and I noticed her eyes; they were covered in fear. Fear of what she might do to me."

"Even then, it is a huge assumption. We can't take her on based on an assumption," Alyssa interjected while Kiara and Vinnie nodded in response. I rolled my eyes. "It's the best we have got; trust me on this," I begged.

I could see Dylan, Alyssa and Kiara considering it. Klaus and Louis were on board. I had to convince Vinnie somehow. "Vinnie, please trust me," I begged, holding his hands in mine as I met his gaze. I didn't care if he heard my heart pounding against my chest; he just needed to see that I didn't always need his protection.

"How are you planning on doing this, then?" Vinnie asked suddenly.

  I paused. I hadn't thought of that.

"You could say that you were curious about your family," Louis suggested, playing with Kiara's hair. That could work.

"Yeah, and I could bring my birth certificate to prove I am genuinely curious," I added. I liked this plan.

The rest were considering my plan. I bit my lip, hoping they'd see that the plan was pretty good.

"Let's not forget that if your heart races, she can hear it," Vinnie reminded. I nodded firmly. I knew the risks.

"It is the only plan we have, and given our short time, it is the best," Klaus began. "We need to make sure your lie is believable."

Commotion broke out instantly as they all came up with ideas about how I would approach her and whether I should be accompanied. I tuned them out, thinking about how I might have the chance to know my birth parents, the ones I lost too soon. Vinnie was worried about nothing. My heart wouldn't race because I was lying to a werewolf and vampire hybrid; it would run because I'd finally have a decent conversation with my only living relative. I wouldn't be lying about wanting to know my birth parents because it was true; I really did want to know about them.

"It's settled then," Vinnie announced finally, a look of defeat on his face because everyone was willing to go through with the plan of using me as bait. "Klaus and I will be in the vicinity should something go wrong. The rest will circle the lot, finding the best possible way inside. Dylan and Alyssa would charge at Sheila when they're in, the shock of their sudden appearance throwing her off guard while Klaus and I run in. Eventually, she will start fighting back, so we have to keep her down as best as possible until we stake her."

We looked at each other; this plan was going to work; we could feel it. "Let's kill her once and for all," I announce.
