I'd turn into a vampire just for you.

As much as I wanted Sarah to turn into a vampire, I knew it was selfish. I couldn't ask her to put her entire life on hold for me, someone she probably didn't even like. Besides, it would be hard to teach her how to be a vampire since she's so feisty and stubborn. While walking out of the cafe, I had decided that when we were alone, looking for my father's journal, I was going to tell her how I felt about her, how my heart raced when she was around, how her stubbornness only made me want her more. However, the real question was whether she wanted to put everything on hold for a vampire she just met.

Kiara and Alyssa rushed off to the sheriff's department to pull records on any 'Winston' in Janesville. Dylan, Klaus and Louis headed to the library, and Sarah followed me to my place. I had to get the keys to my old house, where my father lived and died.

"Any reason you wanted to work with me?" Sarah asked, a pressing smile on her face. I wanted to roll my eyes and play along, subtly telling her the truth. Instead, I told her it was because she was more tolerable than the rest. She giggled," I'm taking that as a win for me!"

I smiled down at her as she looked up at me. There was something that was bothering her; I could see it in her eyes. "Do you want to be a vampire?" I asked. Her smile fell, and she looked away. Sighing, she replied," I don't want to live forever, but I also want to spend eternity with the boy I love."

My heart started racing as she said that; I wasn't sure if she was referring to me but, who else could it be? Dylan had Alyssa, and Louis was human and had Kiara. It couldn't be Klaus, could it? "Actually, maybe being human is better. The boy I love has his other chics to sleep with," she said bitterly. That made me understand she was talking about me.

I went into my house while she waited outside. She didn't need to see the mess we had accumulated inside. I'd kept the keys to the house in a safe place, somewhere I knew I wouldn't forget. I pulled out the box under my bed; it had pictures of my dad and me, some with Klaus. I missed him, and realising Sheila was the cause of his death made my blood boil. I wanted her dead more than anything.

I came out of the house, keys in my hand. Sarah pursed her lips to form a smile. Yikes, there was tension among us. My old house wasn't too far away, so we decided to grab lunch before heading there.

Wendy's was packed as usual but compelling ourselves a table got the job done. We sat silently as we waited for our food to arrive. "Do you know why I sleep with all those girls?" I asked suddenly. I could tell she was taken aback by my question because of the shocked look on her face. "Being a vampire means that people around you die while you live forever. The only reason I was alright with being labelled as a 'player' was that I didn't want people to know the truth behind why I hate commitment. Imagine I fell in love with someone, and then they died because they're a human. It was scary. That's why I started sleeping with multiple girls so that people would think I'm a player without raising suspicion." I replied. Sarah's frown disappeared, and a look of sympathy washed over. She held my hand, looking at me straight in the eye. "I believe you."

I smiled, fireworks going off inside me. Her presence, her touch, everything about her made me want to keep her safe. I was undoubtedly in love with her. "There's no better way to say this but, I'd turn into a vampire just for you.

"Selfish as this sounds, I want you to turn into a vampire too," I replied, our hands intertwined. She smiled, that same smile that makes my heart flutter.
