I gently sat down on the bed next to Alexis, blocking the sun from her eyes as it shone through the window and swept a stray piece of hair from her face. Her lips were parted slightly as she peacefully slept, though the exhaustion was still evident under her eyes, she was still as gorgeous as the day I first met her. I got up and closed the curtains before laying down next to her and gently rubbing circles on her hip. She let out a soft sigh and scooted closer to me, nuzzling her face into my chest with a faint smile
"You are so perfect" I whispered softly as I grazed a kiss across her forehead.
About 10 minutes later I heard keys in the front door and my parents talking quietly
"No, you don't need to say anything. I've heard enough. If you won't leave then we will" my mother said in a hurt tone
"Nicole, be sensible. You've got no job, no money and have no idea how to fend for yourself. Face it, weather you like it or not, you're stuck with me" my father retorted, sounding very high and mighty as usual
"You've been lying to me for who knows how many years!" Mums voice broke as I heard her throw something on the ground
"I can tell you whatever I feel you need to know. And that's not much. You need me more than I need you"
"You're wrong" mum sobbed
"You're right. I don't need you at all" dad chuckled.
I gently sat up and made my way to my bedroom door when I heard a crash followed by my mother screaming. I quickly opened the door and ran downstairs to find her laying on the floor with my father stood over her, a smile on his face.
"Mum!" I cried out as I ran over to her, dropping to my knees to lift her up.
"Dad! Help her!" I begged as I looked over my mother's limp body trying to find the source of the bleeding.
I looked up to call out to dad again except he was gone. Without a second thought I went back to trying to wake my mother up and found a large hole in her back. I gently rolled her body over to see her heart had been ripped out, her spine and everything in a total mess.
I gently laid her down and closed her eyes as I kissed her forehead
"I'm so sorry, love you mum" I whispered as I gently stroked her hair before getting up.
Anger took over my body as I remembered my fathers face. The sick smile and the red hand I hadn't noticed.
"Luka, my boy, come here" he teased from upstairs. Before I knew it I was running up three stairs at a time and burst my bedroom door open where I saw my father in front of the window holding Alexis.
"Don't be the hero" he warned, his hand across Alexis' mouth while the other held her waist against him. Her eyes were dark black and her legs twitching, though she wasn't fighting his hold.
"Let her go" I demanded, my fists balled so tight I could feel blood
"You know what? I don't think I will" he chuckled as he tightened his hand over her mouth
"You sick fuck" I breathed
"Yes, yes, tragic story. Here's what I want from you" he started with a roll of his eyes
"I need you dead. And this little bitch made that so much harder" he continued
"Why?"
"Well isn't it obvious? You're pathetic. Same as your mother. I'm a pure blood. I deserve so much more" he whined
"My mother wasn't pathetic. She devoted her whole life to you"
"Oh bullshit. I'm the one who left my pack to be with my 'mate' even when I knew she was human! I had to put up with her! All so I could have myself an heir and what did I get? You"
I watched Alexis' eyes as she winked at me before biting down on my fathers hand causing him to yelp and pull away from her. I took the opportunity to run at him, my arms outstretched as I reached him and tackled him out through the window.
Glass shattered around us and the shirt on him I had been holding was ripped off before I collided with the grass and everything went black.

Luka charged passed me and took his father out the window, knocking me to the ground with the force. I quickly got up and looked out the window and saw the large wolf with glowing red eyes baring his teeth. I looked around for Luka in a panic before I spotted a dark brown wolf lunge at the alpha, bright green eyes glowing.
"Luka" I breathed as I watched him effortlessly pin his father down, who now that I looked at them, isn't much bigger than Luka's wolf.
The two growled and fought with each other for a few minutes before Luka pinned his father again and bared his teeth in a dominant stance over him.
The alpha wolf kicked and squirmed under Luka who simply backed up and watched the alpha who then retreated into the trees, tail between his legs. I quickly jumped out of the window and stood up to see the emerald green eyes directly in front of me.
"You shifted Luka" I smiled softly while my wolf howled with joy inside me.
Luka looked directly at me before turning around and heading off into the trees
"Luka?" I questioned before quickly shifting and following his scent.
After following his trail I found Luka in his human form, curled up under a tree on the edge of the clearing near the large lake. I nudged him gently and he moaned softly so I shifted back and laid down next to him.
"Are you okay?" I asked gently as I brushed some hair from his face
"Remind me not to jump out of a two story building ever again. My whole body hurts so bad" he groaned as he rolled onto his back and stretched, his face wincing with pain.
"Luka, your body doesn't hurt from the fall. You didn't hit the ground, you landed"
Does he not remember?
"Landed?" He laughed
"Yeah right. Pretty sure I went head first into the grass after dad disappeared on me mid air" he rolled onto his side to look at me before his eyes darted behind me
"Wait" he stammered as he sat up
"Why are we here? What" he questioned, looking around.
"Luka, don't you remember? You shifted as you broke through the glass. Totally dominated your father too, he ran off with his alpha tail between his legs" I laughed
"Shifted? What?" He asked, panicked
"You really don't remember?" I ran my hand through his hair and his green eyes darted around, confusion across his face
"It's okay. I'm sure you will remember it next time" I smiled as I kissed his cheek softly
He has to remember
