"They haven't been around here" Alexis reassured me as we sat down in the small restaurant side by side in a booth
"Will you know if they come?" I asked quietly as Brittany eyed me off from the counter
"I should get the scent and hear them" she said softly
"And if you don't?"
"Then we run again" she sighed
Brittany walked over, an extra sway in her hips while she winked at me
"And what can I get you two today?" She asked sweetly
"Just a water, thanks" I said as I kept my eyes on Alexis who was clearly annoyed with her
"Same for me, thank you" she smiled up at Brittany who turned and left.
"She's still salty" Alexis muttered
"She's jealous of you" I laughed
"Only cause she wants to jump your ass" she grunted, pushing the salt shaker across the table
"Yet, only you get to"
"She should be jealous" an evil smirk crossed her face before she leant over and grabbed my shirt, pulling me closer before she kissed me
I'm totally going to jump your ass she teased through her mind link
Brittany cleared her throat as she sat two iced waters down
"Anything else?"
"Not yet, thank you" Alexis smiled, her hand still tangled in my shirt. I wrapped my arm around her waist as she snuggled in and took a sip of the water.
"When can we go back home? Or can we not?" I asked softly
"I'm not sure. The land isn't owned by a pack so it's free space. Anyone from any pack can go there. We aren't safe on my father's property and we aren't safe on the blood moon packs shit either. So it's out of town for a little while I guess" she sighed again.
We sat in silence for a while before ordering some food and keeping a general conversation.
"If we get you in control of your eyes, surely we can get the rest sorted, right?" Alexis asked, finishing off her drink and sitting it next to the empty plates
"Yeah, makes sense. Easier said than done though" I grumbled, putting my now empty plate and glass with hers
"We should find somewhere to spend the night" she thought aloud
"Ill go pay, you sort that out" I laughed as I stood up and headed for the counter.
"Hey, how was your meal?" Brittany asked as I reached her
"It was great, thanks" I smiled
"That's awesome. Here's your bill" she handed me a piece of paper with the total on it tallied up under the different things we had ordered and I scanned my card
"She eats a lot for such a small frame" Brittany said quietly
"Tell me about it. Hard on the wallet" I laughed as I dropped a few coins and a note into the tip jar
"I'd be easy on your wallet if you wanted to go for dinner" Brittany winked at me
"I'm more than happy to pay for whatever she wants even if she didn't eat it, as long as I get to see her smile, It's worth it. Thanks anyway Brit" I smiled and met Alexis at the door where I held it open for her and she kissed me on the way out. You're way too nice she said softly.
"Come on, there's a motel down this way. I'm sure we could get something there" she smiled and took my hand then we walked down the street together. I noticed a few different shops including a crystal shop where I'm assuming the gems she got me for my birthday came from and a small sports centre with skateboards, surf boards and skis in the window.
"I hope I can get my board back" I wished
"I'm sure it's fine" Alexis smiled
"Here we are" she chimed as we came to a stop in front of an old building with 'motel' written across the top
"She's a bit old on the outside but it's better once you get in" Alexis reassured as she went inside the office
"I hope you're not wrong" I muttered
"Room 42, double bed with a view" she winked as she opened the door. She was right, kind of. It was much cleaner inside and had a double bed in the middle of the room with white covers and pillows. There was a cute swan couple made from towels sitting on the end of the bed which faced a wall mounted tv and on the back wall was a glass sliding door leading out to a small balcony overlooking the parking lot and the forest
"Great view" I joked, looking at the trunks and cars
"Actually, it is. Because if any wolfy bitches try to sneak up, we have the perfect view of the main entrance to the town" Alexis chimed before a yawn hit her
"You'll be asleep in 5 minutes flat. You won't even see them sneak in"
"No I won't. I'm vigilant!" She placed her hands around her eyes like binoculars before flopping onto the bed where she began snoring within a few minutes.
"Told you" I joked as I laid down next to her and pulled her into a hug. Alexis let out a soft moan as she cuddled in close before the snores started again and I stared at the roof, playing with her hair before I too had fallen asleep.
Alexis I heard faintly in my head. It was a deep voice, but not familiar to me. Alexis where are you? I opened my eyes and saw Alexis still sleeping next to me, her arm wrapped around my chest while mine draped over her waist and the other she was using as a pillow. Alexis, I know you can hear me. I need you now the voice grew louder as I pulled Alexis closer to me.
"Alexis?" I asked softly as I brushed some hair off her face. Please Alexis, I need you to listen to me. I may not be your alpha but I'm still your father
"Father?" Alexis questioned as she sat upright and looked around the room
"Are you okay?" I asked as I sat up with her
Alexis stayed quiet and I noticed her eyes were glowing black as the moonlight shone through the window.
"Father wants my help. Our help, actually. He's outside" she said as she looked around at me
"I figured he needed you" I said as I stood up and took my shirt off
"What do you mean?" She asked, slipping her clothes off while I put on a clean shirt
"I heard him. He was calling out to you in my head and said it was go time now" I shrugged
"When?" She asked, now wearing one of my shirts along with a pair of sweats
"Just now while you were asleep"
"You heard him?"
"Yeah, didn't you?"
"No"
