The Unexplained Transformation

Alexis and Conor continued talking about my transformation and how crazy it was. Apparently I'm a rare case.
"Do you think it has anything to do with Alpha Dominic?" Conor had asked
"I turned him, how could it?" Alexis said
"I guess it's just another thing to ask the Council" he had mumbled.
They were now discussing how they planned on getting to the council considering they were miles away and two states over.
"We can just run. We will be there by noon, tomorrow if we leave later today" Conor said
"I don't want Luka running that far when he only just shifted. Don't you remember how painful your legs were when you first started running?" Alexis retorted
"But hasn't he skipped all the shitty parts and jumped right to the best?" Conor laughed
"Don't be an ass"
"What if I drive?" I asked
"You can't drive the whole way in one go. You'll get too tired. It's a twelve hour run for us and will probably take you up to an extra three hours via the roads" Alexis said
"Why don't I get Ryan to come with me? We can take turns driving" I offered
"Maybe" she thought
"Look, I don't know when the Alpha's plan to attack but we need to move fast. We need to be leaving now. Why don't we just go and Luka can stay here? He can hang out with Ryan or whatever" Conor suggested
"I don't know" Alexis mumbled as she held onto my hand
"He will be okay" Conor soothed
"Yeah. I'll be fine. Remember? Big bad wolf took out the alpha" I teased with a grin
"You're an idiot. But yes, you will be okay. I'll just miss you" she admitted, he cheeks flushing a soft pink.
"I'll give Ryan a call. He should be still home" I said as I reached over Alexis to grab my phone from the table. Her hands ran over my back and Conor laughed
"You're hopelessly head over heels, aren't you? Just infatuated" he mumbled
"You're just jealous. You'll feel the same when you find your mate" Alexis glared at him
"And I'll give you shit for it" I teased as I stood up and headed back out to the small balcony to call Ryan.
"Hey Luka!" He called as he answered the phone.
"Hey Ry, I was wondering if you're up to anything today and tomorrow?"
"Just school, what about you?"
"Oh shit, I totally forgot about school" I slapped my forehead with my palm
"Well, if you need I can bail. What's up?" He asked with a laugh
"I need a gaming buddy"
"Oh, bro! Count me in! When are we playing?" I could practically hear the goofy smile on his face
"As soon as your ready I guess? I have a lot to tell you too" I added. I couldn't keep him out of it for much longer
"I'm ready now man" he laughed
"Alright, well I'll give you another call when I'm at yours?"
"Sweet, sounds good!" He said as I hung up and went back inside.
"I'm just saying, it makes sense" Conor was saying in a defensive tone
"It's bullshit. And you're an asshole if you agree with it!" Alexis growled as she stood up and walked over to me
"Woah, what did I miss?" I asked, my hands rubbing up and down alexis's arms trying to help calm her down and she slowly took in my scent
"Alexis thinks I'm an asshole because I think her father had good reasons for not making her alpha" he shrugged
"And what reasons are they?" I asked
"She's female! A woman can't run an entire pack" he laughed
"Don't be a dick, Conor. You know damn well a woman could do it. Probably even better if we are being honest" I said
"Look, we all have our opinions-" he started
"This is probably why you don't have a mate" Alexis mumbled into my chest
"Conor, why don't you go get ready for the council trip? Lex hasn't slept yet and needs some before hand"
"I don't want to go anywhere with him" alexis grumbled
"Same" Conor muttered
"Guys, can we not? Conor, you're wrong if you think a woman can't be an Alpha. It's rare, and I'm sure you only think that because it's not happened but don't you think two brothers sharing the title is worse?" I asked
"Yeah, I guess you're right. I mean, if I only had a daughter I wouldn't have much of a choice but to hand the title to her"
"Alexis would make an amazing Alpha" I added
"She will be a great Luna too" he said quietly
"You're just saying that so Luka doesn't break your face again" Alexis said, a smile hidden against my chest
"Yeah, but I believe it" he said, standing up and grabbing his bag.
"Thank you" Alexis smiled, turning around to face him
"I'll meet you out the back at 2. Luka, you should aim to leave as soon as you can" Conor said before walking out the door
"It's only just hit 7am, I can think of a few things we could do in the next five hours" Alexis hummed softly as she began kissing my neck
I gently ran my hands to her thighs and lifted her up before carrying other over to the bed and laying her down, my body hovering over hers.
"We are on the same page then?" She asked, a smirk on her face and her fingers pulled at my shorts
"No, my love. You need rest, you have a huge run ahead of you and I'm not letting you spend the last of your energy on me. You sleep" I said softly, kissing her forehead and laying down next to her
"But I want to spend my everything on you" she whined and she snuggled in close
"Sleep" I whispered as I ran my fingers through her hair.
"Okay" she mumbled, and her eyes fluttered closed before she let out a soft sigh and her body relaxed against me.

I left a little note next to Alexis and slipped out from under her arm before grabbing my phone and bag. I planted a soft kiss on her cheek before I left for the car and headed back home.
Once I got home I grabbed a few things to eat and had a shower. After getting dressed I sent Ryan a text saying I would be there soon and started walking down the road.
Once I got to Ryan's I noticed a faint smell of something gross then I saw his front door was slightly open. Taking note of the broken handle I gently pushed it open and called out for him only to be greeted by a man and woman laying on the floor in a pool of blood, Ryan nowhere to be seen.
