The Unexplained Transformation

𝐼 𝐷𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑈𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑

Alexis had taken us on a run for about 45 minutes after we had split off from Conor before finally sitting down in a small clearing atop a large cliff side, overlooking the ocean.
"This is insane" I sighed as Alexis laid her head down on my lap
"Tell me about it" she agreed
"I don't understand. You said I shifted and was stronger than my dad but Conor says he is a super strong alpha or whatever. How could I have beat him?"
"I don't understand either. But I'm telling you, you pinned him down like he was nothing. He squirmed under you as if he had no strength at all" Alexis spoke with amazement while her hands waved around adding an emphasis to her words.
"Why don't I remember it?" I asked softly
"I'm not sure. Maybe you're not fully connected yet?" Alexis sat up and kissed my cheek softly
Once you're connected she said softly through my head and her kisses lead to my lips
We can connect deeper too she added, louder this time as our lips connected.
"Get a room" a voice groaned from behind the trees causing Alexis to shoot up in a defensive stance before relaxing again once Conor came into view.
"He can only mind link when we kiss" Alexis said, causing me to turn red in the cheeks
"That's weird" Connor said has he sat down with us
"I'm weird. Thank you" I grumbled
"Yeah, what's your deal?" Conor asked
"My deal? Dude, what's yours? You bully the shit out of me after literally trying to kill me-"
"Killing you. It wasn't just an attempt" Alexis cut in as she sat down next to me again, leaning into me while resting her hand on my thigh
"You gotta do what the alpha says, my guy" Conor shrugged
"So why are you here now? Not doing what your alpha says?" I challenged
"Because. This time his reasons are for power. When he first returned he made out like you were this, pathetic little waste of space that was nothing to anyone"
"He told me I was" I mumbled
"Well, yeah. But this time he wants both of you dead so you can't stop him"
"Stop him from what?" Alexis asked, her body now fully relaxed against me
"Taking over the high council. They plan to attack them in a few weeks time with hopes of overrunning them" Connor scoffed and Alexis laughed
"The high council is made up of over 20 of the strongest and oldest alphas. Even a pack with two alphas wouldn't have a chance" Alexis said
"That's what I said! It's a death wish. Hence why I wanted out. I'm not going to kill you guys just so I can get my head ripped off" Conor kicked his shoes off and rustled his hair with a heavy sigh
"Wait, if you've just up and ditched your pack does that mean you're a rogue like Lex, or are you something else?" I asked
"Well, I'm still part of it currently" he said, his eyes flashing a bright green before returning to his usual blue
"But, weather I leave or get kicked out I'll be pack less, so a rogue either way" he added
"Hey, what about you? Are you part of a pack?" He asked a short while later, cutting the silence
"Luka's eyes just shine. He doesn't have any colour" Alexis said
"Show me" Conor dared
"I don't know how" I admitted
"Well, Alexis said you did it before. Just do that again" he joked.
"I what?" I asked, dumbfounded
"We are not doing that in front of you" Alexis said
"Doing what?" Conor and I asked at the same time
"His eyes only lit up when we were getting heavy" she mumbled softly, burying her face into my arms and my mind flicked back to the night before when I first started to hear Alexis through the mindlink.
"Like with the kissing thing and the mindlink?" Conor asked, completely unfazed by the topic
"Well, yeah" Alexis said
"So you're like, disconnected from your wolf? 'Cause like, you don't remember when he's forward and you can only hear Alex when you're intimate which makes sense if she's your mate" he trailed
"Is it because she's your mate?" He questioned while looking at me
"I'm not kissing you" I quickly spluttered out
"You're not kissing him" Alexis confirmed as she scooted onto my lap and crossed her arms
"Ew. He's my cousin" Conor laughed and Alexis sat back down beside me, keeping as much touching as she could
"Okay, hear me out" Conor said as he then scooted over closer to me and held my hand
"Dude, what the fuck?" I asked, pulling my hand back
"Hang on" he grumbled as he took my hand again
Conor looked into my eyes and I watched as his eyes swirled from blue to green and a soft green glow emitted around the edges
"Dude, you're gross" Alexis said as she pushed him away
"You got that?" He laughed
I looked between the two of them and shook my head
"Okay, mate only then" Alexis confirmed
"Maybe we just aren't intimate enough" Conor joked as he blew a kiss at me
"Watch it" Alexis warned
"I'm just messing with you both. I know what a mate is" he laughed as he flopped onto his back
"Do you have a mate?" I asked as Alexis nuzzled into my neck and I heard her faintly taking in the smell
"Somewhere. I haven't met them yet" Conor sighed
"Do you know when you will?" I asked
"Nope. What was it like Alex?" He asked, looking up to the sky
"It's weird. I was running and it felt like I had been hit by a truck with his scent. I knew instantly it was my mate" Alexis tangled her fingers with mine as she smiled against my collarbone
"I'm sorry for what we did to him" Conor offered
"Alphas orders. It's okay" Alexis sighed and wrapped her arm around my waist and held on. She felt sad but relieved
"Speaking of" Conor said abruptly as he flipped over to look at us and flashed his eyes to the green only for them to swirl into a dark black
"Does it suit me?" He asked with a smile
"Hey, we match!" Alexis laughed as she looked up at me with her black eyes
"Well now I'm the weird, odd one out" I whined
"Alexis and I are both rogues, both werewolves, both sitting here right now able to talk about anything without you hearing" he tested as he sat up. Alexis leaned back from me and watched quietly and Conor stood up and looked down at me. What the hell is he doing?
"You should hear the dirty little secrets" he said quietly, causing the anger in me to boil. I got to my feet with my fists balled and returned his stare. I was still taller than him but he had the wolf side on me.
"What are you doing, Conor?" I warned
"Nothing, compared to what I could be doing with sweet little Lexi"
The words rolled off his tongue with the same venom from the night in Rook's Lane and I felt my fist connect with his face and watched as his body was flung backwards into a tree.
