The Unexplained Transformation

𝐹𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑀𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑠

"My shoes felt to tight and I felt like I was going to trip over but you said to just commit, so I did. And I face planted the ground" I sulked as I held an ice pack to my head.
Alexis jumped on the bed next to me with a laugh.
"You shifted first though" she took the ice pack from my hand then held it over my eye for me
"No I didn't" I retorted
"Yes you did. I saw you. You shifted then hit the ground and shifted back. Maybe your wolf is just super clumsy" she laughed
"Bullshit. You said I scared daddy alpha away" I swatted her hand and the ice pack away from me and sat up. We had actually been quite close to home when I fell so it didn't take long for Alexis to half carry me up to my room where we then threw some clothes on as I had left what we were wearing in the forest.
"You big bad wolf scaring off the alpha" she cooed in a baby tone as she kissed me gently with a smile
"Get off me" I grunted as I pushed her off to the side while she giggled. I got up and walked over to the still broken window
"I need to fix this" I stated, pushing a slice of glass out and watching it fall onto the grass below
"I know a guy. Dad used to be friends with him. He's not a wolf but he's aware of them. He will fix it with no questions" Alexis said, starfished on my bed.
"Like the guy who cleaned the house while we were out by the lake?"
I thought back to the morning after my mother had died, when Alexis took me for a walk to clear my mind and we spent a few hours just laying on the grass watching the water ripples.
"Yeah, like that" she smiled softly
"That's not something you have to worry about" she added as she sat up and crossed her legs to watch me
"Hey, if I work out how to shift, would I be a rogue, like you?" I asked as I fiddled with the hem of my shirt
"No. You won't have a title. You're not part of a pack. Generally you take on a low rank in the pack your mate is in, but, I've been banished so I don't have one, yet you haven't been banished so you shouldn't become a rogue. Plus we aren't fully mated anyway. So it could go anyway. Honestly, I actually don't know" she rambled then laughed as she flopped back down on the bed
"I'll wait and see then" I laughed as I sat down beside her.
"How about we skip school today and just stay in bed?" Alexis teased. It was now about 4am on a Tuesday morning. I was given the week off from the principal to 'cope with my grief' and Alexis stayed with me while a friend of hers covered for her in class.
"We probably should try and get in but I really don't want to deal with all the people going on with their 'condolences'" I raised my hands to make air-quotes before laying down next to Alexis who promptly snuggled in close.
"I'll beat the living daylights out of anyone who even tries you" she threatened through a yawn
"Oh I'm sure you would. You big bad wolfy" I teased and she softly giggled as her eyes closed
"Hey, don't make me used these guns on you, handsome" she gently knocked her loose fist against my chest before her hand dropped while she let out another yawn.
"Get some rest. You'll need it" I joked as I closed my eyes and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before drifting off to sleep.

"Lex" I groaned as I rolled over and hit the snooze button on my phone. Alexis mumbled something before rolling over and cuddling into me again
"Alexis" I laughed
"No, five more minutes" she whined
"Alright. Well, I'm going to go have a shower. You're welcome to join me" I teased as I dropped my shorts from my waist
"Unless of course you want to stay in bed that is" I threw my shorts at Alexis the headed off to the bathroom.
I turned on the water and stepped in before I heard feet softly running down the hall followed by Alexis giggling as she closed the bathroom door.
"Changed your mind?" I laughed
"Shut up. I'm cold" she put her cold hands on my back and pushed me out from under the water then sighed as the water rushed over her face. I watched as she ran her hands through her long hair before squirting some shampoo onto her hands and rubbing it in. I ran my hands along her arms and started massaging the shampoo in for her while her body relaxed. We then washed it out and I ran some conditioner through her hair too. Alexis smiled up at me before she then did the same for me, only I had to bend down for her to reach.

"You want to come with me to the shop after school and I'll make us a nice big dinner?" I asked as we walked through the gate onto the school grounds
"Yeah, okay. I'd do anything for one of your fancy dinners" she joked.
We walked inside and over to our lockers where we put our bags away while avoiding a few whispers about my parents.
"Hey dude, how are you going? You holding up okay?" Ryan asked as he slung his bag into his locker next to me
"Yeah, I'm good" I replied
"That's good. Bro code, we can talk if you need my brother" he knocked my shoulder with his fist as he headed off to class and I gave Alexis a soft kiss and a goodbye before following him to sit down.
"Luka" I heard from behind, know all too well who it could be
"I need to talk to you. Seriously. Meet me out the back of the gym after class" Connor whispered under his breath knowing no one would hear him. How does he know I could?
