Scythe walked up to me, but didn't say a word. I felt Comet tense up beside me and when I looked he was glaring at Scythe. I backed away from the two's tention that could be cut with a knife, and went to the other end of the line. I could see Bottonlout there and a weight fell onto my shoulders.
"Better than those two." I thought to myself. I stood as far away from him as I could without looking suspicious. Thankfully, Gobber ' s return kept him quiet."Alright. There are seven of you, so four of you put these on." Gobber dropped a pile of iron armor with the face of a different type of dragon painted on each.
"So where playing a game?" I asked."Yup. And each of you will get an ability to use against the vickings. Now, talk amungst yourselves and decide who's wearing the armor.
we all looked at eachother without saying a words, then I shouted, "Not it!"
"I'm out!" Scythe called.
"Same here." Comet said.
"Alright the rest of you put these on. There's a Gronckle, Timberjack , Deadly Nadder, and a Thunderdrum."
Soon everyone had picked a dragon. Scruffnut picked a Nadder, Buffnut with a Timberjack, Salmonfoot with the Gronckle, and Bottonlout with a Thunderdrum.
This is when Gobber got out the 'perks' that came with each dragon."Now since we are making dragons yield without killing them, the viking cannot get hit with a dragon's attack. "
We all gave eachother nervous glances until Gobber began throwing object at the dragon team." Gronckle gets rocks, that you can't throw." He tossed two stones to Salmonfoot. "Nadder get two knifes." He tossed them to Scruffnut. "Those you can throw. Timberjack gets an axe." He handed the ax to Buffnut. "And finally, the Thunderdrum gets a horn." He have Bottonlout the horn.
What do we get?" Scythe asked.
"Good question. One gets a knife," He tossed a dagger, much like the one I had, to me. " the other gets a net," He gave the net to Comet, " and the third gets a sheild. Use them well." With that Gobber began walking to the exit.
"Where are you going? " I questioned.
"Scruffnut has knives - there's no way I'm going to risk that. Come on you dragons" He made his way to the outside of the iron roof where he could look down on us with our dragons just behind.
"Remember: above all else, act like dragons and work as a team!" He added to the two teams. "Begin."
Us vikings first move was to run and gain ground. With our backs against the wall I turned around and saw Scruffnut coming at me with both knives.
"Vikings, pick a leader and follow!" Gobber shouted to us. As I dodged one of the knives thrown at me, I looked to the boys. They were both looking back at me with expectant faces.
"Oh come on!" I sighed.
"Freya, your most likely going to be the leader during fights. Just go with it!" Gobber called.
"Fine." I jerked my head to the iron gates as Scruffnut ran at me. I waited until she got close and ran to the side.
I met up with the boys near the iron gates as the dragons slowly enclosed around us.
"Okay, what's the plan?" Scythe asked.
"Give her some time to think, man!" Comet demanded.
"Both of you shut up! Okay. Comet you tail me and we'll take out one dragon at a time since you have the net. Scythe you distract the other dragons from getting too close to us by making noise with that sheild. Since they have to act like dragons, Gobber will have to make them stop." The boys' eyes widened with my plan in awe.
