Y/n Pov:

It felt as if time slowed as the ball of compressed snow flew through the air to the figure. I found myself feeling disappointed when it fell short of the intended target.

I watched as he continued to walk on, not seeming to have noticed the failed attack. I reached out to the pile, grabbing another snowball from the top, watching as Technoblade trudged through the snow. I waited until the timing felt right, and peeked over the top of the barrier once more as I threw the ball as far as I could.

I was immediately met with glaring eyes after it broke upon impact on my brother's shoulder. I ducked back behind the snow barrier I made only about fifteen minutes prior. I knew he had already seen me though. I grabbed several more snowballs and stood up from behind the small, snow wall.

I couldn't help but let out a low chuckle as I tossed a few more at the half-piglin, only two of them hitting my target. I glanced back down to see three snowballs left of the ground, my gaze turning to Techno as I grabbed them. He was running right towards me, and I could tell he was trying to hold back a smile.

I began sprinting off, back in the direction of the house, cradling the fragile snowballs in my arms as Technoblade chased after me. I stopped briefly, throwing another ball straight into his face. I heard a faint huff of annoyance coming from the pink-haired man.

I lifted my legs high as I tried to cover as much ground across the thick, snow-covered earth. It was deep, when I was standing still the snow was a couple of inches above my ankles. I glanced over my shoulder at my brother, who was gaining on me quickly. I sloppily tossed one of the two snowballs I had left, which, to no surprise, missed him.

I could feel the tightening in my chest as I gasped for air, hearing Techno's heavy breathing not far behind me. My eyes scanned across the stables area, and for a second I thought about taking cover there when my gaze barely caught a glimpse of white fur blending into the white surroundings.

I immediately changed my direction, heading straight towards the large, furry creature that seemed to be sleeping near the staircase leading up to one of the doors of Technoblade's cabin. I slowed to a halt, turning around and throwing my last snowball as hard as I could, in an attempt to buy myself even a little bit more time.

The snow shattered apart upon impact with his shoulder, the same one I had first hit. It didn't seem to slow him down for as much as I hoped, but I still decided to continue on with my plan. I continued to run closer and closer to the napping creature, the fur rising and falling with every snore that emerged.

At the last moment, I jumped over the creature, landing in the soft snow on the other side. I watched as Techno's expression changed from a confident, cocky attitude, to one of realization as he discovered what my plan was. He tried to stop himself, but I laughed as he slid straight into the sleeping bear.

The polar bear rose to his full height, standing on his hind paws, and looking down on Techno, who was now laying in the snow after having woken up his beloved pet. Steve's eyes traveled from Technoblade to me, and then back again before he sat down in the spot he had been sleeping in moments prior.

Techno brought himself to his feet and moved to walk around Steve, only for the polar bear to move and block his path. The half-piglin scoffed as he moved in the other direction, once again, his oath being blocked by the large mammal.

"Come on, Steve. Move out of the way," his monotone voice sounded from the other side of the bear, as I held in a laugh. There was a wide smile on my face as I watched the encounter from where I sat on the stairs.

Technoblade let out a frustrated groan as his hands made contact with the bear, trying to push him out of his way, but Steve didn't budge.

"Looks like I'm Steve's favorite," I teased as I watched my brother struggle to get past his pet. I could see him roll his eyes as he put all of his weight into trying to push the bear.

"He's only protecting you because you gave him all of the fish I brought back yesterday. Which was supposed to be our dinner" Technoblade retorted. Steve brought himself to his hind paws once more, standing up to block my brother.

"He's a good boy, he deserved them," I responded, and crossed my arms. I wore an amused expression on my face as Steve's front legs fell over Techno's shoulders. I watched as the bear tried to play-wrestle with the pinkette.

I stood up, standing about halfway up the steps as I watched as Technoblade tried to overpower the bear and knock him onto his back. My eyes glazed over the two. I had watched him play with Steve multiple times since I arrived, it always seemed very close, but Techno would always prevail. He always seemed serious in the fights prior, and I was sure Steve would let him win.

This match was different than the ones before. Technoblade was smiling and laughing occasionally as they alternated pushing each other. At one point, Techno had stumbled back from the bear's push and barely regained his footing.

I watched intently as Steve appeared to grow tired, not having the time to fully wake up after the abrupt end to his nap. When Techno managed to give one final push to send Steve falling back into the snow. As Technoblade stood triumphantly in victory, I silently stepped down the stairs.

I grabbed one last handful of snow, messily shaping it into a ball and tossing it straight into my brother's back. Snow dotted his braided hair as he turned back to send a disapproving look in my direction. I could tell he was trying his best to act annoyed, but the smallest hint of a childish grin was present on his face.

Before I could even try to reach for more snow, Techno had created his own snowball, throwing it back in retaliation. I felt a cold sting on my side as the snow shattered upon impact. It hurt for a couple of moments, but it didn't take long for it to disappear.

As soon as I realized Technoblade was gathering more snow, my eyes widened. I saw the slightest glimpse of a mischievous grin on his face, before I turned, hurrying up the stairs skipping a step in between each.

I flinched slightly as a snowball barely missed me. Even though I was afraid of the massive amounts of snow my brother was about to hurl in my direction, I didn't want this moment to end. It was the first time since I returned that it really felt like we were family again.

I opened the door, though I was unable to make it through before the large snowball made contact with my stomach, pushing me back slightly into the door. Despite the pain, I couldn't help but laugh along with Techno as he cheerfully climbed the steps.

"You look freezing, let's get some hot chocolate," the half-piglin offered, taking hold of the door and holding it open for me to walk inside.

"I wonder who's fault that is," I muttered with a small laugh as I wiped off the snow that had clung onto the fabric of my clothing before heading inside with Techno following right behind.
