I drive with Nick to drop the three boys off at the airport. Clay said his goodbyes at the house.

"Bye, it was nice meeting all of you," I say as I give the boys a side hug.

"Good luck with your thing," Quackity whispers when he hugs me.

I laugh and roll my eyes, "thanks. I need it."

I wait in the car to give all the boys privacy as they say goodbye.

Nick and Clay are going to see George soon, but I'm not sure if they have plans with Quackity or Karl.

Nick and I listen to music as we drive home. I decided to break the silence to talk about what's going on in my mind.

"So, it's been five months that we've been together," I say, "That's a long time."

"It's actually been more than five months," he glances at me to smile before focusing on the road again, "but yes that's a long time."

"Well," I say, trying to word it the best way possible, "don't you think it might be a good time to let people know we're dating?"

He lets it sink in for a moment as he really takes it in. "You have a point, but we need to be careful."

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I just feel like we could really mess things up if we make the wrong move," he shrugs a little.

"You're right," I nod, "We need to read the situation."

We both think for a second.

"What if.." he says, "I talk to him like I did the first time, and see if his mind has changed."

"You and I both know it hasn't, Nick," I say softly.

He sighs, "I know."

"We can try it," I say, "but what do we do when he reacts the same way?"

"We can figure it out," he shrugs.

I roll my eyes. We need a plan B before we start out plan A.

"We need to think ahead," I say.

"Okay, let's think,"

We both think for a second again. What could we possibly do?

Why are we putting so much thought into what Clay thinks about our relationship? We're already doing our own thing, so nothing should change once Clay finds out.

"Why do we even care what he thinks?" I ask.

"What? He's our best friend, y/n." Nick says, sounding surprised.

"But it's not his relationship." I say, "He's the whole reason we've been hiding it for so long. We can't let him control us anymore." I cross my arms, "I say if he doesn't approve then we just tell him 'too bad' and do it anyways. Didn't stop us the first time."

Nick sighs. I can tell he doesn't want to make Clay upset, but I don't want to wait anymore. I can tell both of us are getting impatient. If Clay knew, then we could at least be public.

"He'll get over it eventually," I say when Nick didn't respond, "He just has to get used to it first."

"You know what?" Nick says, looking at me from the corner of his eye, "You're right. It's our relationship. In the end, he should have nothing to do with it. He can't get mad at us for dating."

I nod. "I agree,"

"So I'll figure out what his standpoint is, and then either way we're going to tell him, right?" Nick clarifies the plan.

"Exactly."

I don't think Clay will get mad at us for dating. He can't. He's our best friend, and you should always be happy for your friend's relationships.

I don't see why he would even get mad at me either way. It's not like Nick and I are going to break up anytime soon. I can guarantee that. We're doing amazing, and once Clay sees that he'll understand how good we are together.

He has nothing to get mad at.

At least I hope he doesn't.
