NOVEMBER FOURTEENTH
TWO THOUSAND AND TEN

10:45 in the morning

GROWING CLOSER to Yuuji Terushima seemed to be one of the best decisions Sora Suzuki had ever made. His heart was at peace, his mind relaxing now that he could finally unload his shit to somebody. Somebody who genuinely understood himinside and out.

And it was the same for Terushima.

And yet, lurking between the pages of their intertwined stories were their soulmates, gradually collecting dust as they were pushed to the side. The feelings Yuuji and Sora held for each other grew day by day, from the moment they met at their bench to the moment where they chatted the night away.

One knew his soulmates.

One had yet to meet them.

Both were falling in an inquisitive desire.

Fate burned with rage. How dare they stray away from her path? How dare they defy the souls she linked so intricately with theirs?

She refused to allow this to continue, and so, she took her time to devise a plan with the universe reluctantly backing her up.

JANUARY TWELFTH
TWO THOUSAND AND ELEVEN

12:32 in the afternoon

STANDING BEFORE EACH OTHER in one of Miyagi's crowded malls, Terushima and Sora smiled jubilantly. In their eyes laid a labyrinth of dark, daunting emotions waiting to be read aloud, pages upon pages of mysteries. Curiosity illuminated the depths of coffee brown and sea green orbs. They wanted to hear each others' stories. They wanted to explore the parts of the other they kept hidden in fear of being exposed to something so putrid it would curdle people's beliefs and sour their virtuous views.

"Do we have a deal?"

Yuuji smiled wickedly.

Sora returned it.

"Yes."

Entering shops, roaming through the aisles and picking out clothes, Sora and Terushima stumbled into changing rooms, forcing the other to wear outfits they had picked.

Some were cool; some were weird.

Some were organized, some not.

Some were revealing; some were humble.

Either way, gazes lingered, darkening by the minute. Both couldn't help but take in how stunning the other looked. Like divinity had blessed them with looks so sacred, it could bring mere mortals to their knees and pray.

Eyes travelled up and down, hands caressed covered skin, smirks tugged at drying lips.

Playful, suggestive nudges here, steps into sanctified personal space there.

Sora stood in one of the shop's changing rooms, dressed in an outfit Terushima put together. Fingers ran over the mesh material hugging his chest wonderfully, and a shiver racked his spine as they ran over his perky nipples. Toned muscles, abs on display; oh, gods and goddesses, did he make Terushima want to drop to his knees and kiss every surface of skin he could get his hands on.

Sora glanced at him through the mirror.

His smile was warm with a hint of shyness, and his lips were like a frozen rose, dangerous, threats of thorns, but so beautiful.

"Hey, dude," rasped Yuuji Terushima, fingers itching forward to touch, touch, touch what was not his. "Want to head back to mine?"

Eyelids lowered.

A deep, husky exhale.

"Fuck yeah."

The sun was about to set, and the street had become slightly dimmed. Street lamps lit the sidewalk with an amber, melancholic glow, and cars zoomed by with loud roars. A soft breeze frolicked with the late winter air.

Lost in a world where fairy tales no longer ignited magic, lost in a world where stories whispered around the fire no longer reached the strong of heart, lost in a world where poems no longer struck courage into the hearts of men, lost in a fucked-up world were a pair of equally fucked-up boys.

Do not doubt that one day, they would journey homeward bound on the wheel of time, where the arms of soulmates awaited. But sleep easy not; they were not found yet.

Bubblegum and gold cotton candy skies, intense eyes burn their insides.

Bodies danced together, intertwined in a forbidden, taboo dance. Hands roamed over bodies that contained souls that did not belong to each other. Curiously, curiously.

Fingers jammed into underwear, grasping limbs that should not be touched by hands that were not their soulmates. Lips caressing one another, tongues wrapped in a fiery embrace. Curiously, ever so curiously. Beware, my broken children. Beware.

Terushima never knew the stars catered a flavour until he kissed Sora Suzuki. Turned out, they tasted like ambition and ancient fires, desperation and self-destruction, determination and dark matter, and the mind-numbing fear of being left alone again.

Terushima wanted to soothe his fears.

He was not alone anymore.

"Oh, fuck."

What sonorous groans.

"Shit, Sora!"

What pretty moans.

Heads thrown back, ecstasy painted faces.

"Youh, shit- You're so tight, Yuuji."

"You're filling me up!"

Tears streamed down flushed cheeks.

"Please, please, give me more. Don't leave me alone, Sora. I need you. I need you."

Tender kisses on sweaty foreheads.

"I'm not going anywhere."

Day by day and night by night, they were togetherall else had been forgotten by them.

But do you not recall?

Fate had a plan. And it was going to hurt.
