SAGE POV
We pulled up to the house to see a moving trunk next to us in front of the house. "New people to hate us." Steve joked as he pulled into the driveway. "They probably hate Two-bit or Dally first," Soda answered. We parked and hopped out; Ash was awake, and we started to unload the pumpkins. a voice shouted, "Dakota, can you help me with this box." A boy came running out of the house to the moving trunk; he picked up the box and walked inside with a man beside him. "I don't trust him," Dally said as he handed a pumpkin to Darry.
DAKOTA POV
My dad thinks moving away from Texas would stop my misbehaving. We pulled down an old road to park in front of a run-down house like the others. "Dakota, you can't stay mad at me forever." I rolled my eyes, hopped out of the car, opened the truck's door, and started carrying boxes inside.TEN MINUTES LATER
The neighborhood was quiet until two loud trucks drove down the street and pulled into the house's driveway next to us. The car doors opened to show guys around my age or older; they all yelled and laughed."Loud and reckless boys, don't go talking to them before I meet them," Dad said and watched them as they carried pumpkins to the porch of their house.
HOURS LATER
Hours passed, and my dad and I unpacked. "Dakota, let's go meet our new neighbors." He said. "Fine," I said, setting down the things I was putting away. We walked over to their house. The gate of their home was wide open.We walked through as we got closer to the house; I could hear laughter and music from inside. Dad knocked on the door as a large muscular man appeared; he leaned on the door frame.
"How may I help you." He asked; the house was dead silent. I could see the heads of the boys and a beautiful girl looking. Then, finally, the man's voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"I'm Darrel Curtis, but you can call me Darry." he brought his hand out as Dad shook his hand. "I'm Daniel Smith, and this is my son, Dakota," he said, and I smiled at him.
"Why don't you come in and meet the rest," he commented. Dad shook his head, agreeing as we stepped inside. The smell of cigarettes, beer, and chocolate hit me. It wasn't the most incredible smell.
Darry pointed to a boy and girl sitting on the couch reading a book. "That is Ash and Pony; Pony is my kid brother." the two looked up, waved at us, and looked back at their book.
"That is Steve and Two-bit." he pointed to two of them drinking and devouring cake. They didn't look at us, only nodded their heads. "That there is Johnny and Dallas." Two boys smoked and talked. They looked at us. Johnny smiled as Dallas looked at us with cold, dark eyes. "Where the hell is Sage and Soda?" Darry asked,
"Soda is in the shower; I don't know where Sage is," Steve responded; a door opened to a girl. "There you are, this is Sage," he said; she approached us. "Hi, and welcome to our wolf den," she said with a laugh.
"Don't listen to her. She is only joking." Darry pushed her away. "Would you guys like to join us for dinner?" darry asked, "We don't want to be a burden to you guys," Dad said. "None sense; you're new to Tulsa; it might show you what the city looks like."
"Oh, alright," my father replied.
