Christmas Day, 1977

Adelaide would be lying if she said that she had not enjoyed spending time with her family the last few days. But she would also be lying if she didn't admit that they were driving her a tad bit insane.

So the fact that Alexander and Della would be arriving today with their families and, most likely, Peter, and Remus, brought a sigh of relief to her lips when she woke on Christmas morning.

Of course, where two of the Marauders went, the others followed.

Only about two months ago, Adelaide would have dreaded the prospect of seeing James Potter on Christmas or any day for that matter.

But right now, it sent a sort of giddy feeling through her heart that was a brand new sensation for her.

"Birdie! You coming down?" Collier shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Yes, be right there!" Adelaide yelled, pulling her strawberry hair into a braid, the white streaks shimmering in the sunlight filtering into her room.

Finally deciding on a dress to wear, she picked one that her mother had made when she was home over the summer, Adelaide smile at her reflection in the mirror across from her, twirling around once.

Viomet was known for cooking an unbelievable amount of food on holidays when everyone was home, and that all started with breakfast.

"I Cast a Spell on Father Christmas" could be heard playing throughout the Harthwood residence as Adelaide hurried downstairs.

"And the princess has decided to grace us with her presents!" Luis cheered dramatically from beside the large tree the boys and Fletcher had dragged inside yesterday afternoon.

"May we all feel blessed by Merlin's ghost!" Collier joined in.

Phillip chuckled along with them as he hung an ornament on the tree.

"Mon Cheri! Venez manger quelque chose!" Viomet said, walking out of the kitchen to hug her, before turning on her sons. "Garçons!"

"Oui Maman!" They said in unison, rushing to where the food was.

"Morning, Sweet Pea!" Fletcher said suddenly, pulling Adelaide into a tight hug.

"Morning, Papa!" She mumbled, her voice coming out faint with her face hidden in her father's shirt.

"Are Della and Alexander coming around today?" Collier asked, as he sat down and started to pile his plate with quiche and bacon.

"Yes, they should be here in a couple of hours!" Adelaide said, beaming at the thought.

"Oh, wonderful! I can not wait to see those two!" Viomet exclaimed happily.

Alexander was ready to rip his hair out.

Coming from a large family and being the youngest of six children, he was used to a crazy household, especially around Christmas, but this was hell.

"I leave for a few months and come home with a boyfriend and now no one will leave me be!" He growled to himself as he pulled on his ugliest Christmas sweater in preparation for the Harthwood's get-together.

"Alexander!" His mother shouted impatiently to him from downstairs.

"I am coming!" He yelled, taking a moment to fluff his hair in front of the mirror before racing down to the fireplace and his family.

"Alright! Now that we are all here, Alexander and Thaddeus will go first," Matilda Lark said, directing her sons to the floo.

Both boys took a small handful of Floo powder and threw it into the orange flames, causing them to flare up and turn a bright green color.
