I'm pretty sure a lot has heard of Berserk because Guts has been portrayed as the face of depression. When I started reading, I was got hooked by the attention to detail of the dark fantastic world of Berserk. WHEN I TAKE AT LEAST 10s BEFORE TURNING TO THE NEXT PAGE OF A MANGA, IT MEANS IT IS A GOODSHT PIECE OF ART. Miura did not fail me (bless his soul for leaving this timeless masterpiece).

At first, I got confused with the shifting timelines since my reading pace during this series was very slow. I can't really read this in public and I also get creeped out if I read this at night, so I really need to get the timing right when reading this kind of manga. Guts was portrayed as a cold-hearted, big, deadly guy at first but after revealing his dark and tragic past I eventually started rooting for him.

I highly recommend this manga to those who got a good balance in embracing the dark and the light. I just feel like those who only go for dark will end up deeper in the dark if they read this. Cool story tho.

Favorite character/s:

Schierke. Beloved enchantress and one of the few who diluted the dark atmosphere of Berserk.

Rickert. Only survivor of the BotH wipeout. I just admire this kid for his strong mental fortitude.

Serpico. Best chaperone.

Farnese. I didn't like this sword-phile beech when she was still a slave to religion but eventually her character development proved her wrong.

Irvine. Dude only had a few panel exposure but I became an instant fan for his gory sharpshooting skills.

Luca. I like how she is more than just a courtesan. She was Casca's support and I like how witty she is.

Roderick. I appreciate how this dude is not a spoiled brat despite being royalty, how he is skilled at sea, and for not being an asshole betrothed to Farnese.
