Review:
What made me hooked in this series is their opening "unravel" by TK, but it turns out the plot is good too. The fights, the transition, the characters, the art is just utter perfection.
At first, ghouls were thought to be flesh-eating monsters with no shred of humanity and all but in Kaneki's perspective there's a bit of human in them, they were just born with a weird diet.
Things got out of hand when there were ghouls who started to attempt cannibalism especially now that they've heard of premium-meat-Kaneki. Great plot element.
I also like the ghouls kagune designs. It's quite imaginative of the author to include that on the character design.
As for the ending, it's quite different from what the anime showed but one thing for sure in this manga, it was a tragedy. You should read the next Tokyo Ghoul:re if you find it unsatisfying.

Favorite character/s:
Juzo. Eccentric trap slash war machine. I like their familial relationship with Shinohara.
Uta. Coolest mask creator. Also, his tattoo is an icon, it says "I cannot live with nor without you" - a perfect description of the relationship of ghouls and humans.
Arima. Hottest Grim Reaper of CCG.
