When James opened the doorway portal to see his friends what he didn't except to see with his own eyes was Harriet along with Ron, Hermione and even Professor Snape about to be attack by the one thing James hates the most in life, a werewolf an actual werewolf in person.

James: HARRIET!(James saids in anger and thought because the one he hates the more than Zorg is werewolves, admittedly using his animal transformation he turned into something that can outmatch a werewolf and began to run towards his friends to save them from the beast)
Meanwhile with the others:
When Snape went over to talk to Harriet, he turned around and saw the werewolf behind him in which he decided to shield everyone away from the beast from getting to them in which the werewolf moved towards everyone and held out its giant paw with sharp claws and was about to scratch Snape but misses and him and along with Harriet, Ron, and Hermione fell over. Then the werewolf brought out a horrifying roar in which got everyone scared even Harriet.

Just then after the werewolf went out its growl it turned its head towards Harriet was about to strike her down and kill her until it was tackled to the ground by a larger animal who jumped right in front of it and start attacking it which made everyone shocked at what just attacked the werewolf and when the creature got off the werewolf and the wolf was free it was looking at the creature that attack it and it was a large male lion which let out a mighty roar which was more stronger than the werewolves bark and growl.
