Rick, Jerry, Beth are eating breakfast. Rick is building a robot at the table. Jerry is playing Jerry's Game. Rick starts welding. The bulk of the sparks fly towards Jerry, who turns away to dodge the bulk of them. You and Morty enter the room. "Hey Rick, (Y/n) and I have to make a project for the science fair this weekend. You think you could help us out?" Morty asked. "Whatever." Rick said. "Well, um, traditionally science fairs are a father-child thing." Jerry said. "Well, scientifically, traditions are an idiot thing." Rick snapped. "Morty, (Y/n), I think it will be fun for you to work on a science project with your dad." Beth said. Beth sends you and Morty a text saying "Your father is insecure about his intelligence" which you and Morty read. You put your phone away and clear your throat.

"Yeah, dad, why don't we do it together?" You asked. "Yes!" Jerry said. "You backed the right horse on this one, (Y/n)! We'll get out the crayons, brew some coffee and knock this thing out in two or three days." Jerry said. Rick finishes the robot he was working on. "What is my purpose?" The robot asked. "Pass the butter." Rick said. The robot passes the butter. "Thank you." Rick said. Morty sighs. Summer enters the room. "Dad, I need a ride to work." She said. "Maybe Rick can give you a ride. I'm helping Morty and (Y/n) with science." Jerry said. "I'm busy." Rick said. "Doing what?" Summer asked. "Uh, anything else?" Rick asked. Summer glares at Rick. Rick glares back. "What is my purpose?" The robot asked again. "You pass butter." Rick said. The robot looks at its hands. "Oh my god." He said. "Yeah, welcome to the club, pal." Rick replied.

You, Morty and Jerry are on the floor surrounded by art supplies. "Why don't we do a model of the solar system? That's what my dad did with me when I was your age." Jerry said. "Oh. Okay." Morty said. "You know, Rick's in his lab making cyborgs and wormholes and all that weird stuff, but this is real science! A man and his children, making planets! Hey, how 'bout we use a ping-pong ball for Pluto, and then Jupiter-" Jerry began. "Uh, actually, I don't think Pluto's a planet." You said. "Of course Pluto's a planet, (Y/n), I learned that in the third grade." Jerry said. "Well, yeah, but, you know, they changed it." Morty said. "Morty, nobody changed the planets." Jerry said. "I just googled it. Uh, Pluto's not a planet. They changed it in 2006." You said. "Yeah, I heard about that, (Y/n). And I disagree." Jerry said. "You... disagree?" Morty asked. "That's right. It's possible to disagree in science, Morty. Pluto was a planet, some committee of fancy assholes disagree, I disagreed back. Gimmie a ping-pong ball." Jerry said. "Um, ok, I just have to-" Morty said. "Go find Rick and go for my head about Pluto?" Jerry asked. "Gee-no! Geez! I just gotta go to the bathroom! Damn!" Morty said. "Oh." Jerry coughs. "Okay good. This is gonna be fun!" He said. You rolled your eyes.

Rick's building a contraption, connected to a laptop and pointing towards the microscope he got from Mr. Needful. Morty walks past to get to the bathroom, but Rick interrupts him before he can get there. "Hey, Morty, lemme ask you a question real quick. Does evil exist, and if so, can one detect and measure it?" Rick asked. "Um..." he replied. "Rhetorical question Morty. The answer is yes, you just have to be a genius." Rick said. The machine scans the microscope. A bar on the laptop marked "IQ" drops to close to 0. "Your sister's boss gave me a microscope that would have made me retarded." Rick said. "Ooh, oh boy Rick, I don't think you're allowed to say that word, you know?" Morty asked. "Uh, Morty, I'm not disparaging the differently abled. I'm stating the fact that if I had used this microscope, it would have made me mentally retarded." Rick said. "Okay, yeah, but I don't think it's about logic, Rick. I think the word's just become a symbolic issue for powerful groups that feel like they're doing the right thing." Morty said. "Well that's retarded." Rick said. Jerry lifts up the garage door. "What are you guys talking about?" Jerry asked. You walked into the garage as well. "Apparently nothing." Rick said. "You asked him if Pluto's a planet, didn't you?" Jerry asked. "Calm down, dad." You said. "It's not." Rick said. "Shut up, Rick." Jerry said. "Whoa." Rick said. "I don't care what anyone says. If it can be a planet, it can be a planet again. Planet. Planet, planet, planet." Jerry leaves angrily. "Stay scientific, Jerry." Rick said.
