(Mark's pov)

I was walking through the halls again, looking for a way to kill time.

I turned a corner and almost shat out my heart when a familiar face jumped out and screamed.

"HA!! GOT YOU!!!" The man said.

"ASSHOLE!!" I shouted to him.

In all his annoying glory, stood Dr. Jack Bright, the immortal mad scientist of site 19.

"I am not in the mood for whatever you have planned" I said.

"come on Mark! You're never in the mood!" He said.

"You're right I'm never in the mood to go riding 682 down main Street!" I said.

"C'mon! This time it'll be fun" he said.

"Last time you said it was fun, 6 people got mashed into human cream of wheat" I said to him.
"Well what were you planning on doing then?" He asked.

"Not dying" I said.

"You're no fun" said bright, walking off.

I sighed.

I walked back to my office and sat down at my desk.
I had been rather emotional lately, more than usual.
It was my birthday coming up, I was turning 29 in a month and I had no one to celebrate it with.

A tear rolled down my cheek.

There was a knock on the door.
I quickly wiped the tear away and cleared my throat before getting up.

I pressed the button on the side of the door.
It slid open.

I saw Dr. Collingwood standing outside.

"Oh, hey" I said to her.

"Good, noon I guess." She said.

"What's up?" I asked.
She paused and looked up from her clipboard.
"Were you just... Crying?" She asked.

"Oh um... no!" I lied.

"Anyways, Dr. Buck wanted to do an interview with Scp 3887. She asked you to participate because it can get risky with only one researcher present." She explained .

"When?" I asked.

"Tomorrow" she said.

"Alright, tell her and Mr. Moore that I will be there" I said.

"Mr. Moore won't be there" she said.

"Oh um, okay. Any reason why?" I asked.

She shrugged.

"Alright well, tell her that I will be there tomorrow" I said.

She smiled and walked off.

I closed the door and sat down at my desk again.
