a walk in the park...mostly.

Amelia caught up to me, seeing the look on my face as I passed earlier.

"Did he guilt trip you?" She asked.

"Oh absolutely not. He went on and on about how much he thinks I'm a terrible fit for you, looked like he wanted to fight or something" I said.

"Oh..."

"I just... Need some time to think, alone. And I also need to get in better shape. I'm going for a jog down at the park near my house. I'll see you in a few hours" I said.

"Alright, love you"

She kissed my cheek and waved, walking to her office.

I smiled and waved back.

I walked out to my car and got in, driving back home.

I got changed into my tracksuit and running shoes.

It was already getting dark out.

I started jogging down to the park.

I checked the time mid-run.

It was about 8:50.

I had to wake up early for work.
I decided to follow the path back to the block where my house is at.

But to do that, I had to pass by the creepy treeline that lead into the local woods from there.

Those woods creeped me the hell out, especially at night.

I braved it and started the path.

I was just passing the treeline when I heard a voice.

It sounded like laughing, telling, or cheering, a mixture of all three.

I turned to the woods, pulling out my flashlight.

"Hello?!" I called out.

There was no response.

I turned my flashlight on and switched over to the red LED.

I heard the occasional bristle of leaves or branches, the rustle of bushes in the cool night breeze.

I went in, searching for the source of the voice.

I froze suddenly.

"Hello?! Hello?! Can anyone hear us?!!" Called the man before briefly crying.

I found the direction of the voice and followed it.

"Hello?!" I called out. "I'm coming to help you!".

They just kept repeating the same words and screams.

I felt uneasy.

Something didn't feel right.

I heard cawing of crows, causing me to jump briefly.

I regained my composure.

It sounded like I was getting closer.

I found an old building amongst the tight trees it seemed to be the source of the screams.

I walked in and shone my light inside.

I could just barely see a shadow in the corner of the room.

I assumed it was the person.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked.

I got no answer.

I switched to my green light and what I was in front of me would shake me up for years to come.

"That's not a person..." I thought, in shock.

Standing at about 8 feet tall was a skinny looking figure, staring down at me with beady black eyes.
