just watched 'we brought a zoo' and of course i had to do a kelly foster one shot because she's just the cutest lil bean ever

"is butter worth your auntie driving eighteen miles right now to get it ?" i asked the three in front me, to be honest i already knew the answer yet i still starred my brother right in the eyes hoping he'd take my side

well guess who got outvoted... yes, me. all for bloody butter

i just parked up at the front of the house and got out of the van ready to march on in with the oh so sacred butter

"long day for you, y/n ?" her voice chimed in behind me. kelly's voice. i'd be a big ass liar if i were to say she wasn't attractive, everything about her was. from the way her hair fell just above her shoulders to the way she cares for the animals

"long day for you ?" she gave me that smile. honestly the butterflies that alone gave. oh. my. god. but she was obviously tired and carrying boxes on boxes, i just wanted to take them all and quite literally take the weight of her shoulders. so, me being the gentlewoman i am, took one of them from her, throwing it over my own shoulder

"you should go home. we'll take over. we're good" a shot in the dark but i just wanted to help

"corns ready !!" ben, rosie and dylan announced from the front step causing me to turn to them

"eighteen miles for butter !!!" i waved the bag with the butter in the air

"but i'm just tellin' kelly here that's she's gotta..." i paused turning back to face kelly and there it was again, that smile

"she's gotta have some time to herself" a smile of its own crept onto my face

"so tell me what- you know, just give me a list of what to do and i'll do it"

"are you sure ?" she asked with hopeful eyes. she really needed an early night and i wanted to give it to her

"yeah we got it" i turned to the three on the porch, silently pleading them, benjamin gave me a cheesy double thumbs up

"okay, spar has a..." the list began as she fiddled around with one of the cases she was holding

"a new medication, so let me just... make sure that he gets his food, and that he eats it all"

"okay"

"turn off the lights in the garage"

"there is a new shipment of exotic snakes, so just leave them in the travel crates and i'll put them in the exhibit in the morning. and the monkeys need fruit as well-"

"go home !!" i held her shoulders making her stop her manic searching

"go out. go to the city. go find your girlfriends" with that i gave her a gentle nudge to get her moving

"i think i'll just find my pillow" she quipped back walking away

"alright, good night"

truth be told i didn't want her to go, i liked her company, i liked just talking to her. so... using what little confidence i could muster...

"kelly !!" i shouted getting her to snap her head towards me

"would you like to- i mean i know you'd probably much prefer the company of animals but i was just wondering whether you'd like-" yeh, that little confidence did absolutely nothing

"yeah, hanging out with you some time sounds like fun" and with that and one final smile she left, leaving me an absolute frozen mess

i didn't realise really how long i was still for until rosie came crashing into my legs, draggin me back inside

"sooo kelly huh ?" a teasing voice chimmed. benjamin. i chose to ignore him but the beaming smiley expression i had on my face was definitely a dead giveaway

"nine point two miles. so, technically, that's eighteen point four miles for butter" i joked walking into house, raising the bag high like i had just won a award

"you know i found some right ?"
