eighteen (18) months that's how long you and aubrey plaza stayed in close proximity and contact with one another
eighteen months to film a film
you both played love interests. at first it was odd - not awkward - it was more comfortable rather then forced
the emotions portrayed by the both of you felt natural and real in a way - not that you and aubrey figured that out, you were both so oblivious
twelve (12) months in is when the scene shot was your character's confession of love. by then you had known aubrey for around fourteen (14) months and the two had grown to be the closest of friends
"y/n, y/n, y/n, y/n" the brunette repeated in a screech like tone as she ran across set towards you. once the actress reached you she practically jumped into your arms
"ugh i missed you" she groaned which made you laugh a little
"you saw me yesterday?" the day before you had to leave early because of a dentist appointment and miss plaza did not take to you leaving kindly
"too long" she mumbled as she rest her head on your clothed shoulder
other costars and just general people around set could see that the two of you were beyond the point of friendship but all wanted to see how long you'd both stay oblivious to eachother's feelings
well that was until elizabeth olsen - a costar - had enough of aubrey gushing about you to her. it was constant and at first she found it cute but as time went on lizzie tried to 'gently nudge' her friend into confessing to you but aubrey's stubborn arse would not budge
"aubrey, you need to tell her because however much i love hearing you talk about her it's getting frustrating how you don't see that see feels the same way" the olsen sighed as she threw her head back, hitting the sofa cushion
aubrey laughed "you think y/n, the y/n, likes me?" the brunette snorted "you're funny" as she looked up at lizzie - who was not laughing - she saw the glare the other was giving her, a glare she was quick to return
"i'm not confessing" she deadpanned
it was the little things about one another that made you grow smitten
like how you noticed when aubrey gets excited, or is talking about something she's passion about, her eyes hold a childlike shine to them
or how she loves when you subconsciously nuzzle your cheek on her shoulder when your head is resting there
the stolen glances and the light brushes
it all added to unspoken feelings
eighteen (18) months lizzie held back from getting you both into a room, leaving, and locking the door just to get you two to let it all out. every time she had the opportunity she thought about how you both would probably just talk about the most random shit rather than the subject in mind
you, lizzie and aubrey were all taking a break when you blurted out the first thing that came to mind
"you've got high before haven't you bre?" she hummed a yes to your question
"we should totally all get high together"
yeah, if left alone you'd both resort to something stupid like getting high together
on one of the last days on set the youngest olsen sister ran round like a mad woman in search of you two
she ended up finding you sitting on the floor with your foreheads leant against eachother. her first thought was genuinely 'for fucks sake, they're high' but she couldn't see any evidence or smell any evidence of such
"oi" she got your joint attention and took a deep breath in
"y/n y/l/n, do you like aubrey plaza as more then a friend?" she cringed at her own words
"i- uh" you were quick to stand up "i.. i do" you whispered the last part but the brunettes still heard, aubrey's jaw dropped
lizzie released a big breath and walk back to her trailer with a little pep in her step
"you like me?" bre asked herself
"oh my god, i like you" she all but screamed and launched towards you, practically toppling you over
you were laying on the floor with aubrey straddling your stomach making you both go red at the new found position
"i really like like you, y/n/n"
"i really like like, bre"
