i genuinely have no real reason for it but slight reference to hypersensitivity

there you were, just strolling through new asgard, minding your own business

you would have been with valkyrie but she was handling some resident disputes and you were starting to quite agitated, hypersensitive almost, with them raising their voices but didn't want to escalate the matter any further by complaining so you simply went for a wonder around

it was quite peaceful and it gave you some time to regulate your senses, enough to finally take out the earphones you were wearing. you were listening to y/f/a

(your favourite artist)

turning the corner you found a cute little bookstore you don't remember seeing the last time you visited this street

it looked quite cosy actually, the owners had obviously went for the more traditional, vintage look rather than the modern one. it drew you towards the store more

as you were about to open the dark green door you heard people shouting so you turned to your left to see three children running at you

"slow down, children" you panicked with a slight laugh, not wanting any of them to fall and get hurt

"my queen, my queen" they panted as they got to you. you were confused, to say say the least, about this new title

you chuckled "i'm no queen"

"oh but king valkyrie says that your her queen"

ruffling the boy's hair you sighed and muttered "i'm sure she did" a light blush pretty evident on your cheeks

"now if you children would excu-" you were about to excuse yourself from the three of them but obviously weren't quick enough, all three had entered the bookshop already. the blonde girl stayed behind to hold the door open for you, so using her kindest you stepped foot into the building "thank you, darling" the atmosphere immediately put you at ease, it felt like a different era

"may you read to us, my queen?" the same little girl asked with a shy smile. you couldn't refuse, especially with the puppy dog eyes all of them were giving you

"hmm, why don't you lot go and find a book and then sit with me in the corner.. i'll read to you" with that the children scurried away in hopes of finding the perfect book

as they were searching you took a seat in a cosy little corner, there was a decent size space in front of you for the children to sit on the floor. the light source added to the whole atmosphere, it being a black hanging light

from the corner of your eye you could see more kids enter the bookshop and gather with the others. you were going to be reading to a much bigger group

as if on cue they all rushed over to you, a brunette boy placed harry potter and the philosopher's stone on your lap. you took this as there choice

opening the first page you peered over the top of the book to see all of them sat cross legged on the carpeted part of the floor, all silent and waiting for you to start. you couldn't help but crack a smile

with a deep breath you started reading "chapter one. the boy who lived. mr and mrs dursley, of number four, privet drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much..."

as you read you changed your voice slightly for each of the character's voices, just to add to the experience, the children seemed to become more immersed into the story

time was passing and without you by her side valkyrie panicked a little, she hadn't seen you since the start of her meeting. the meeting was two hours ago

during those two hours you read, had a break and then got begged by the children to read some more, some of their parents tagged along too. the bookstore was packed

as val roamed the streets she noticed how it got eerily quiet upon turning a corner. a green fronted store peeked her curiosity as when looking through the window it seemed to be heavily packed

when entering said shop she could hear you voice break through the silence

"he was almost twice as tall as a normal man and at least five times as wide. he looked simply too big to be allowed and so wild" you read aloud, emphasising the word 'wild'

a brown haired kid you learnt to be called billy gasped and whispered a little 'woah' at the description of hagrid. it made you smile twice as wide then you were already

looking around the store your head stopped when you saw your king. placing the bookmark neatly into the book, you closed it

"right, my loves, i think it's time for you all to get something into your bellies for dinner" they all started groaning at the thought of leaving "hey, hey. how about we make this a weekly thing?" you offered which replaced the complaints with giddy little squeals. you were so excited to see them excited about reading

"my queen" brunnhilde spoke with a sweet smile. you playfully bowed in return "my king"

with a loving kiss you embraced her, allowing her head to rest on your chest and you to run your fingers through her plaits

"they love you, you know? the children.. they look up to you" she whispered, kinda muffled by your clothes

"they call me their queen"

"if i'm the king.. you're the queen.. my queen"
