Crossroad || A LiSoo Fan Fiction

XXVIII.

For the next three days, they had the same routine. Marco's status really improved day by day and in one occassion he was able to be awake for just quite few seconds before he again succumbed to sleepiness. On the fourth day after the operation, many lines and apparatus have already been removed from his body. On the fifth day, he was already transferred to his recovery private room. He wakes up every now and then, but still can't talk. But those were enough for his family, specially his wife, to rejoice and be thankful. With the good news, though, Dr. Kreng still told them to keenly observe everything. Marco still needs to be closely monitored for the post-operation effects.

Jisoo closely monitored Marco when the nurses and doctors are not around. Lisa was so thankful for her time and efforts for Marco. Jisoo insisted to stay behind and let Lena rest for more. She couldn't help but literally closely monitor Marco. And so Lisa and her are mostly at the hospital. Lena couldn't thank Jisoo enough since she's assured that a very very competent doctor other than Dr. Kreng is there to watch over her husband.

"I feel so ashamed. I should be doing what you're doing and taking care of my husband but I don't know what to do. You're way way better than me in this."

"Aunty, don't worry too much! I'm happy to do this for Uncle Marco. And I like for you to get some rest so you won't get sick. Uncle Marco will be fully awake in time and when that time comes you should be here, healthy and looking good for him.", Jisoo smiles.

Lena smiles sweetly at the doctor.

"Lisa is so lucky to have you as her partner. Our family is so lucky to have you. I'm so thankful. I'm sure your Uncle Marco is so thankful to you too. Someday, I will repay you with all the things you are doing for him."

"Aayyyee Aunty I told you it's nothing. Don't worry about it. I'm happy doing this for Uncle Marco. So, please don't think about it too much."

Lena, just pulled Jisoo to a gentle hug to relay how thankful she is for her.

Lisa, on the side, could only smile at the scene with her mom hugging Jisoo.

"Good morning.", Lisa greets Jisoo at the kitchen.

"Good morning. Come sit down, we'll be finished in a minute."

"What are you making?", Lisa peeks behind Jisoo. Jisoo smiles upon smelling Lisa's apple scent.

"I asked Chang to teach me how to make that Thai fried rice we often eat and then i prepared some veg salad and sausages. You anything else?", Jisoo answers and looks at her back to smile at the taller girl. They exchange the sweetest smiles in the morning and Chang, on their side preparing coffee and tea, couldn't help but smile at them. She was even blushing for them.

"Sounds good to me. That would be enough. But you shouldn't be tiring yourself today. It's still too early and you're already up considering that we went home late last night. You should still be in bed."

"I'm fine. I had a good sleep and I woke up, thinking that I could cook for us. I haven't cooked in a while you know and it would be nice to learn how to cook your favorite Thai fried rice. I just hope I did it right today."

"She did good! Fried rice is delicious.", Chang exclaims in her limited English, with thumbs up.

Lisa smiles widely at their new-found friendship.

"Alright, let's try your fried rice then."

"Go, sit. I'll just finish this one.", Jisoo nudges Lisa back to the table with her shoulder. Looking at Chang, the latter mouthed at Lisa in Thai language, "She's so pretty and nice. You're so lucky!", but Lisa could only smile and shake her head.
