Hawker's POV
The spines on Hawkers back immediately pricked up. His whole body got tense.
A LeafWing! But they all got wiped out! And this dragon was definitely a SilkWing before... right?
"Everyone, this is Pine." Silverfish explained.
"Oh, don't look so tense. He's not here to fight."
Elfin tilted her head. "Then what is he here for?" She asked.
"Wonderful question." Silverfish said. "I don't actually know."
"I'm here to recruit SilkWings to join us." Pine said.
"And to hopefully free some flamesilks. It seems as though our goals intertwine. I can help— but at a price."
"What price?" Hawker asked suspiciously.
"I need you to get in contact with the Chrysalis for me." Pine replied.
"What's the Chrysalis ?"Asked Elfin.
Hawker was also wondering what in Pantala the Chrysalis was.
"You don't know?" Pine asked Elfin.
"Should I...?" Elfin asked.
"You're a SilkWing, so I assumed you knew." Pine told her. "I can tell you, but not with him around." Pine may as well have growled the last words, as his tone basically did.
"Hawker is a HiveWing you can trust." Elfin said. "He is trying to save the SilkWing he loves, and he won't turn you in."
Pine turned to Hawker.
"Is it true you are in love with a SilkWing?" He asked.
"Yes, but I would prefer for certain dragons, to not go shouting it out." He directed his last words at Elfin, who turned to him and said.
"You DO want to save her, don't you?"
"Of course!"
"Then let's here what this LeafWing has to say." She turned to Pine,
"So... you're not dead... right?"
