Just another normal day, waking up, making the long hike to school, taking in little information from lesson, eat, learn more pointless shit and then finally venture back home to repeat the cycle again.
It was already 8 am by the time she reached the school gates, her hoodie and mask hiding her face as usual, wishing to just disappear to humanity.
"Oh look who it is, someone's bold to show up to school yet again."
Yet again. The words that seemed to follow her around. They never felt her, trailing behind her like a dog on its leash.
Everything she did was yet again.
Failing her exams yet again.
Late to lessons yet again.
Waking to be scolded first thing yet again.
She could never remember when it all started, it seemed like zonks ago she actually did something for the first time.
Even if that was,
The first time she felt guilt,
The first time she felt pain,
The first time she had ever disappoint someone.
The first time time life showed her it was just full of shit, and the happiness she has been cradled in was to be long diminished.
"Leave me alone!" She finally screamed back, exhausted from the comments that leaked out of their mouths as if it was nothing.
It was a new school, a new area, how did everyone know, or was she that much of an unfortunate outcast to stand out that much.
It was a Tuesday morning and despite only being there for one day so far she had already been called back into the teachers office, she didn't know why she could only assume the worst as usual.
Yesterday she had spent most the day walking around the school figuring out where everything was so she knew where to go to avoid getting lost. Something she knew she had to do if was to get called into the office as much as she used to at her old school from all the fake accusations and rumours thanks to her "classmates."
"Come in." Mr lee said as she knocked on the door. It took her moment to conceal herself before finally opening and revealing herself.
She hoped they were nicer and she could have a better school experience so that she could at-least get through school and graduation in peace."Morning Miss Yang." Mr lee welcomed as she entered his office, shutting the large rusty brown door behind her as she plastered a smile on my face to hide the fact she would rather be anywhere but this school right now.
Surprisingly but thankfully she hadn't been given a person who would show her round, She didn't know why but she wasn't going to complain, she liked being alone and being an introvert for a reason.
"Morning." She replied debating whether to sit if it was going to be a long meeting to continue standing if she was able to get it over and done with easily.
"How was your first day?" He asks, he was clearly only intrigued to know if she had been treated as bad as her old school or because for once someone actually cared about her but she refused to believe that, going with the first option.
"Okay, could be better but good." She replies hoping that answered his question well and he wouldn't continue to pester her.
"That's good if you do have any trouble do come find me, I know what you went through in your last school and I'm here to prevent that from happening here, I may know your story, family, everything everyone else knows but until you prove me wrong I'm here to keep you safe." He explains, at first she didn't understand if he was being truthful but then again if he knew it could only mean he meant what he said right, right?
"Unfortunately yesterday I couldn't give you a person to look after you on your first day, I can imagine you wouldn't have liked it but it may be helpful, yesterday he was off but today he is back in so he will keep you company for today at least, if you sit he won't be long, don't worry he's a nice person a little older as our school is large but I have given you the best possible person I could." Mr lee rambles on, she didn't know if he was trying to do some reassuring shit with her or not but as much as she understand what he was saying and why, she couldn't care less, she would find out if he was as he said the boy was and being away from him would prove it first.
"What's his name?" She asks, she didn't care but she might as well know his name to show some respect for as long as she could before giving up and being left alone. She couldn't imagine him actually wanting to do it but wondered if he had a good reputation in the school was he just doing this to keep it?
"Kim Seok-jin." He answered, looking down at his paper work still, checking his watch for the time.
"Kim Seok-Jin." She muttered back to herself, it seemed like a nice name she couldn't lie, but would the name match up to the person, or would he like every other boy prove himself to be an asshole.
For most girls boys were the problems, boys who were assholes however in her life everyone was a problem, boys girls and everything in between they all hated her I mean she could understand why but it's not like they ever gave her the chance to prove herself from the story, as much as she could try they would never look past anything despite her differences.
After a few minutes of silence with just the sound of paper being flicked about by Mr lee, a sudden figure came rushing through the door in a steady manner, he was still tall with a good posture, his face flowed in the sunlight that were entering the room while a smile shone on his face.
The smile wasn't shining but it just looked like it the way he was standing there apologising to Sir about his tardiness.
"It's okay it's not usually like you to be like this." Mr lee replied looking up at the boy who had now turned their head to look at her who was leant against the wall looking as grumpy as anything but still tried not to show it.
"I'm guessing you are Yang Sung?" Seok-Jin questioned, his dark hazel eyes staring down at her while a friendly smile creeped onto his face.
"Yes I am." She replied, her head looking up but not in a way that made her look happy or excited about his presence but one to not make it seem too respectful, Mr Lee now ignoring the conversation in front of him already too into his work to care.
To what everyone knew, well thought, she was the most disrespectful and horrible person to be around let alone associate with, those that did being instantly dragged down with her as if she was some kind of poison only the selected few had, a poison to everyone in every possible way is what she started to feel like, nothing but a bit of poison that could ruin your life if you drank too much or any at all. Yang Sung being that poison where curiosity could kill the cat, but not just the cat, it's whole bloodstream in a blink of an eye. You could say she was like the sun, you can't get too close or you'll get killed, it was as if she was just that, but she's not, she's a regular human and student like every other but just viewed by one by anyone, only the bare few that she knew would change her mind sooner or later.
"Well are you ready to go? We have the first lesson booked off to go through things on our way shall we?" He questioned, his voice was deep but had an essence of peace and calm in it, it surprised Sung but not enough for her to blink at eye over the thought again.
"Yeah sure, sounds good." She replied, throwing her bag over shoulder as she hastily stood up to walk out the room, saying her greetings to the teacher before leaving, trailing behind Jin while they waited for the corridors to clear with the rush of students.
After about 10 minutes or so of the two of them sitting at the front of the school on two hard wooden chairs, the corridors began to quieten down and thin out as the bell for the start of the first lesson rang loudly, even louder due to the fact they had to decided to sit right below one of the bells.
"Well are you ready to do some exploring." Seok-Jin joked, throwing his rather large vainy hands onto the edge of the chairs hoisting his body up his eyes still focused on mine as I began to feel even smaller than I already felt on every way possible as he grew taller while I was still sat frozen still on the hard uncomfortable chair.
"Yeah I mean I don't really have a choice so let's get it over and done with." She grumbled to herself.
I know you don't like me inside so just act like it like everyone else does.
