"Well let's get started then."
And that was that.
After eighteen years she was finally being given the tuth behind her whole life, the one that she now felt would feel like a lie to her, that maybe every moment she shared in life was a lie and that maybe she was actually a part of a plan ,another one of their sick plans.
She knew with their made up "family" that she was currently surrounded with, children were not something they wanted so the ones that made it to the real world were given a purpose, and Sung could almost feel it, she didn't know what was about to be said but she could already tell it wasn't going to be great.
"Your father here isn't actually your biological father."
Her heart sank.
That was the first truth, she didn't know if they were starting with the worst news or the easiest to deal with, but if it was the second, Sung didn't know if she was going to survive, so her life really was a lie?
It felt as if a spear had just shot right through her heart, she would have never guessed that, she was always told to call him father and he supposedly provided for her like a father, not always treating her like she should have been but that was another story to be told another time.
If he wasn't her father who was he and most importantly why had she spent all her life with him and not her real father?
"Wait what?" Sung responded in a light breath, her eyes darting rapidly between the man telling her the truths who was supposedly her father and the one she had always known as "father".
"This man here.." he starts pointing at her father.
"Is not your real father, in fact on your birth certificate he's not the name on there for who your father is, you may have gathered it was actually me." Her new father responds.
"Then.... Then who are you?" She stutters, unable to form words anymore, her state of shock taking over.
"I'm your mother's lover and the one that looked after you until now that is it, if you want to know my name Tae-joon." he exposed as if Sung's world wasn't crashing down enough.
"Please just explain from the beginning so I can understand, throwing facts at me like that isn't going to do any of us any good." Sung pleads.
"Oh but it is good, it's our entertainment, which for us is very interesting." One of the women speak up, all the witnesses smirking in agreement, slowly making Sung's blood boil more, realising the true intentions of why she was here.
"Whatever I know y'all wanna make my life hell but let's at least be quick yes? Good." Sung scoffs, falling back into her chair, not about to let them all walk over her.
"Sassy, I like it, you brought her up well." He says, looking at Tae-joon who just smirked, finally getting the feeling of accomplishment of raising a child, if that was even a thing.
"While we are even on it father, what is even your fucking name huh?" she says loudly, her arms now crossed against her chest.
"Ooo father privileges I like it, Hoo-won lovely." he smirked, seeing her slowly start to lose it.
"I'm never calling you that again and I don't even class you as my father and never will so get out of your illusion." she sneered.
"Oh so Tae-joon over here gets to keep those privileges does he now?" He scoffs back cockily.
"No, no one does, as far as I am concerned I don't have a father there problem solved now get to the story." Sung said sternly, desperately trying to hide the fact her voice was slowly breaking as the knot in her throat began to become more painful.
"Hi-yun note that down for punishment by your son." Hoo-won demands, seeing Hi-yun and his wife quickly take note.
"So you'll probably wondering why everything is such a mess and to answer one of your questions your mother was your biological mother, although she probably didn't feel like it."
"Wow you read my mind I never knew I was so transparent." Sung scoffed sarcastically, staring at them all intently wanting to hear the truth and get away as soon as possible, she didn't care how far away she was any more.
"Oh you're not honey but that's not the point here." A woman suddenly says as she walks into the room, kissing Hoo-woon on the head before sitting next to him, which she could only assume was his partner, he didn't look like the kind for marriages or commitments, her "father" situation being enough proof.
"Whatever just explain."
"Did you really not teach her patience?" Hoo-won asks Tae-joon raising an eyebrow.
"Don't blame me she gets it from her mother or you could even say you." he replies clicking his tongue against his cheek in annoyance, seeing that he was going to get dragged in when that wasn't the plan at all.
"Whatever so you may have realised you and Hi-yun's son are the only children and that's because no one else wanted children but we needed two to take over all this when we are gone-" Hoo-won begins to explain before getting interrupted.
"And what makes you think we will because I, for sure, am not so class me out of this." Sung interrupts, putting her hand up ignoring the faces to her side smirking at the sight in front of them.
"You will take over, you were born into this and now you'll never leave." He responded through gritted teeth.
"I-"
"If you don't shut up I will make sure you meet your future husband now and that is not something you want to do!" He screams, startling Sung who tries her best to look unbothered, despite the mention of her "husband" making her tense in her seat.
What husband was he on about? If they were about to force her to be with someone who she probably hates they had another thing coming.
"So as I was saying, that was that and your mother and Tae-joon over there offered themselves to have a child just like Hi-yun and his wife did. So that was that, until we found out the reason your mother was not conceiving, because the person that should be your father was infertile so that was when I had to step in after some talking it through, so that's how you were born for a start and to our luck we were also given a boy so there we go that's one problem for you solved is it not?" Hoo-woon scoffed.
Sung unable to look at them for the sake of how messed up everything was and she had only just started finding the truth, and the fact he was now being nitpicked on the neck by who she could only guess was his lover or at least paid partner, she had heard and seen enough stories of them even if she was unaware of who he really was.
"Whatever are we finished? Can I leave?" Sung quickfires, wanting to get away as soon as possible.
"Actually no, can we go or at least can you take me home and then come back." She sneered, knowing it was too early for him usually to come back home."Yeah I'll see you lot tomorrow." Tae-Joon informs, standing up from his chair.
"Okay and we will talk about the wedding arrangements." Hoo-woon says, wiggling his finger back and forth between Hi-Jun and himself.
"You do know a forced marriage is illegal right?" Sung deadpanned, tired of hearing all these marriage related words spit out of his mouth.
"Of course, that's why you will court each other for a year, but then again do we look legal, it's going to happen anyway so don't try and run away." He smirks in response, leaving Sung to walk hastily away, slamming the door behind her as she falls into the passenger seat of her car.
The rest of the car journey back home, the air was silent but tense, Tae-joon feeling like if heh spoke everything would come crashing down on him.
He had always been able to know how his "daughter" felt but now with the truth out he was clueless and had no idea how to make her warm back up to him again.
He knew it was going to be a rough time but exactly how long and painful would it be?
