As planned, Namjoon and Sung met up to hang out alone, without the invasion of the 6 others who were as interesting as they were, didn't leave them much time or space to get to know each other better.
Neither of them knew how they had ended up where they did, but neither complained, they had an ease of communicating without having to physically speak, something that just spawned between them without either parties expecting it at all.
It was now midday, and after disturbing Sung early on saturday morning, he allowed her to sleep in, mutually deciding to meet at one in the afternoon, which meant Namjoon was also able to get a few things done which were often disrupted by his blood-sucking parents who were constantly breathing down his neck and at everything he was doing at all times, leaving the only time he was able to breath was with friends or at school.
"I thought this was a casual hang out." Namjoon joked as he watched her approach him, who was peacefully sitting reading on one of the wooden park benches.
Sung had felt guilty for the absolute state she had been in two days prior and decided to look a bit better today, wearing smart but casual clothes that ranged in a colour scheme of white, cream, green and brown. She wore brown trousers that matched with her boots while she wore a green shirt which appeared just over the colour of her white jumper accompanied with her green bag, they weren't expensive clothes, more thrift if anything, but she refused to not have some sort of style, she had to save her reputation due to her parents somehow and dressing decently somehow saved the day many a time.
"I thought I'd make up for the horrible state I came out in on Saturday." She says, joining him on the seat next to him, admiring the view of the large pond pull of wildlife in front of them.
"It was not that you looked bad, as that was not the case at all, it was more the fact none of us had expected you to come out in your pyjamas which were so thin you would have froze if it wasn't for me." He informed with a smile, looking over his shoulder at her small figure relaxed next to him.
"To be honest nor was I, but there we go, what's done is done." She sighed looking up at him, making her unconsciously form a smile as she looked up, seeing his warming smile with his dimples looking down at her.
"You got anything specific you want to do today or just go with the flow?" He asked, turning his body to a more welcoming position and so that his neck didn't hurt from having to turn it round vigorously.
"Not really, just planning to go with the flow, why ou got anything specific in mind in which you want to do?" She asks inquisitively, ready for any idea he had.
Already feeling strangely calm and relaxed in his presence just as she always does ever since Jin placed her in between them both, clearly trying to initiate something.
"Not really I mean how does a walk, grab some food and then maybe pop by the library as Jin said you liked going there and haven't been there as much lately sound to you?" He proposes, reassured at her positive reaction.
"He told you that?" She questioned, surprised that Jin would say such a thing.
Then again, trying to turn her life around as much as she could was presenting her with many surprises.
"Yeah why, is that a problem for you?"
"No I just didn't realise you guys talked about me or anything." She admitted surprised, hunching her back onto the back of the bench.
"Every word spoken about you is never bad, I hope you know that." He reassures, knowing the little he did about her life was probably the reason she was so shocked.
And rightly so.
"In the nicest way possible it probably wasn't when the media aws blaming me for my mothers action and making up false rumours people are still assuming are correct even after the amount of times I denied them." She said hesitantly, worried she was going to offend him, knowing how easily people can get offended from her experience.
"You really want the truth which might say a lot to you about us?" He said, with raised eyebrows, his left arm resting against the top of the back of the bench stretching behind her.
"Of course, didn't we agree to always be honest with each other?" She reminds him, taking the open arm to curl up in his side which he openly welcomed, engulfing her in a hug.
"We did yeah, now you see when everything came out about your mother and well you even though you were just a victim of it all, all of our thoughts were mainly how is she coping and it's clear that she had no part in it and knew nothing so why do they keep pestering her n such thoughts like that, we had no idea who you were but we were worried especially since the medias always emphasised how you never really had friends due to what people thought of your parents n being poor but as soon as we found out you had moved to our school we knew we were going to try and be friends with you and well here we are." Namjooon explained mindlessly, unaware of the now teary Sung huddled into his arms, trying her hardest to hold her tears back at the earnest confession he had just made.
The most comforting words someone had ever said to her and that was saying something.
After Namjoon's confession about them all and what true people all seven of them really were, they both remained in silence, Sung trying to process the words that had been said, while Namjoon held her closer knowing he was probably giving her the most comfort in her life and he wasn't even trying, just doing the bare minimum, something Sung had never bad since the day of her birth.
"Thank you." She replied quietly in between her sobs, which Namjoon let her do, understanding she probably needed the release after the past few years.
"For what?"
"Being my friend."
And just those three words broke his heart, sure he knew it was that way but the fact she had said it just took a whole other toll on him.
He had no idea what the future held especially with this whole marriage thing and how he kept being told he was going to have to "punish" this girl, he had no idea who she was, what she did but the orders kept coming in and he supposed she kept doing things they didn't like, which for them could be as much as saying one simple word.In their world, one wrong flex of a muscle and except a hell of a lifetime ahead of you.
And that was something Namjoon wanted to escape as soon as the waters calmed, that is all he ever wished and if only it were as simple as that."Come on, let's take a walk and then get food." Namjoon said, standing up with Sung still in his side, humming in response.
Today was going to be the break they both needed and no one, I repeat no one was going to change that.
