It was now late afternoon, and for once in all her years Sung had a glimpse of what happiness could really feel like for her.
After living in a dark continuous hole all her life, the boys existence in just a few hours had brought a bright light to her darkness, one that she was now to hold on for dear life, that there was a purpose, hope, that she was actually cared for.
Sure she was getting ahead of herself but it felt nice, in fact so good to actually have people around her, to talk, to exchange numbers, to see people genuinely want her around, it felt amazing, she was over the moon.
However what she had failed to recognise was the time, is the midst of all her time concealing onto this feeling as she swooped home she had forgotten it was the 7 March, the dreaded date, a date she had been praying would never come or that something so ghastly would have happened to wipe her out so that she would not have to live through this day.
Unfortunately she had also made it even worse for herself, she was late home, and not by a small amount either, she had taken her time walking through the park, admiring the world around her and for once not being angry at it forgetting her walls would come crumbling down the second she stepped back in the house.
She was continuing through her blissful stroll, still consumed by her thoughts, imagining a life like today, something she had locked away for a long time all until she was distrubed by a ringing noise from below coming from her very flimsy phone that she had managed to scrap her hands onto that was on the brink of death, she soon opened it up to see an unknown number, she had no ones contact so that made more sense in a way.
"Hello." She said as she answered the call, pulling her phone up to her ear.
"Where the fuck are you?!" the voice screamed through the phone, startling Sung who quickly flinched and pulled her phone away from her ear not wanting to get sore ears.
"Who are you?" She asked confused, not recognising the angry voice.
"Miss Yang Sung this is not the time for your games." the snarled through the phone, making Sung freeze and instantly end the call as she felt all the hairs down her spine prick up as they snarled at her.
"Fuck." She exclaimed, still unable to move as if she was being sucked up into the ground from quicksand, except this time she wasn't moving.
No, she thought to herself, it couldn't be that date already, it came too soon, things were going too well they had to go down but not this quickly, however to her misfortune it was that date, 7 march, she wanted to cry, she wanted to breakdown, she wanted to disappear however she knew she couldn't.
For a small time only, the universe had given her the strength to what she wanted and to be stronger and she was going to use it, even if it did get her into more trouble in the long run.
She hastily scurried home, her breath hitching as she picked up her pase, winding back down the roads, taking the sharp turns of the town until she was approached her home.
Home, a place she had called home for most of her life, even more when she was able to devour it's space in all it's glory, no one invading it, her safe space but that was all until he came home
Wasting no more time, she opened the front door and made her way inside, not wanting to make herself known yet, just a little longer.
She tiptoed into the kitchen, putting away her bottle that she had taken to school.
"Still don't know know how to follow orders do we?" they snarled as they walked into the kitchen.
"Uhh Father I-." She stuttered, already feeling intimidated by his presence that towered over her petite frame.
"I thought when I left you would learn a few things from being on your own." he said deeply, looking down evilly at his daughter.
"Oh I did and more than you would ever imagine." Sung scoffed back, finally taking her stand.
"Don't give me that attitude now, have you not seen where it gets people, particularly mum?" He scoffed back, crossing his arms over his large chest.
"Mum was the main problem, she intoxicated you i would be disgusted if you were ever to do the same things to me." Sun replied sternly, looking at her father wide eyed."Oh yeah she did and we did some fun things I mean look at you." He joked, rolling his eyes about as he bounced his body about.
"Are you drunk?" Sung asked cautiously, slowly backing even further away.
"Why would you think that?" He snarled, only making it more suspicious that he was indeed drunk.
At least he was easier to deal with when drunk, one of the few positives of Sung's mothers death.
"You stink, go take a nap and leave me alone."Sung demanded, rushing out of the room, passing the living room where she saw empty bottles everywhere.
He went away for "work" except it wasn't work as people think. It's drugs, messing with the wrong people, sometimes distant mafia gangs and fellow alcoholics that were soon brainwashed by prostitutes that waved themselves over them, Sung wouldn't have been bothered, except her parents committed crime after crime after crime leaving people hurt and Sung to clean up their mess, getting the majority of the injustice from her parents constantly running away, she wasn't bothered as they would often come back and leave toxicated, abuse falling into her life aswell, esepcially when they had friends who saw her vulnerable figure that they could mess with but she had to protect herself, her parents weren't ones to care for their own child let alone protect them.
"You're wanted." Her father suddenly shouted loudly in a sluggish tone, struggling to even keep his body up as the alcohol took over.
"What?" She half screeched back, stopping in her step halfway up the stairs.
"Your hand is wanted in marriage." he states again, wobbling towards the stairs.
"Well my hand isn't going to anyone especially if it involves one of your gangs." She scoffed back about to make her way back up the stairs before she was interrupted again.
"You're going to take it." He demands, his voice hitching into an angrier tone.
"And what makes you think that." She snarls back, wanting to get away from this man who claims to be her father as quickly as possible.
"It will be good for business, you're never struggle with money either."
"Again what makes you think all I care about is money from someone especially when it comes to partners?" She screams back tired of being used and thrown about like some possession that is only worth something when another wants it.
"You always ask me for money and then you can ask him and his father for it instead of me." He laughs as if life was a joke.
"I ask for money for food and necessities to survive, nothing else, I barely even eat because you give me so little each month!"Sung screams back angrily, feeling her blood-pressure rise as it began to boil inside of her.
"Sure sure, also don't be late again I let you off as it was my first day back but I wont be as nice as today i'll be worse than I was when your mother was alive, after all you are our flesh and blood she's half you so I still own you." He says, collapsing the floor as he passed out all over the hallway.
Own my ass she thought to herself.
"I'd rather live on the streets." she muttered to herself, dragging her heavy body up to her room where she had thankfully still got the lock installed from when her parents lived there, dividing the difference between living and surviving in a single night.
Just when she thought she could get a break, life threw another curve ball that just couldn't be dodged.
