Maria: "Come on everyone, move it!"She said as everyone quickened their pace. Our team's practice seem to be harder as I guess, a game was coming up.
We were running around the fields as we already ran 3 laps already. I stop and rest my hands on my knees, getting a quick breather.
I hear someone run near me, their pace abruptly stops. I turn my head over to see who it was.
Ren: "Y-Y/N, you have to keep running, or you'll get in trouble!" He starts steadily walking, before going to sprint. I give a thumbs up whilst looking down, one hand on my knee.
Fortunately, I don't get caught as I finish my 5 laps. I go to a nearby fountain, splashing it on my face. Someone calls out to me: "Y/N!"
"Huh?" I turn my head to see Ren, running over like a madman.
"Hey, are you not tired from all that running?" He slowly stops running, thinking over my question.
Ren; "Eh? Well.. only a little bit?" I stare at him with shock. I need to improve my stamina...
After a wait of silence, it dissipates by the voice of Ren.
Ren: "Well.. are you excited for our first game!" His smile as bright as the sun.
"Well, to be honest, I'm nervous.." I pause for a second, "..but, I worked to hard for this. No way am I losing this early." I have flashbacks to moments where my breath ran out from batting, training till dark.
Ren: "You're right.. We sure did.." I walk up to him, raising my fist. He looks confused at first but understands where I'm getting at. We fist bump.
"Let's win, yeah?"
Ren: "Yeah!" He walks off, saying his goodbye. I smile to myself. My first every game, huh.. I never played baseball during middle or elementary, heck, not even little leagues.
I raise my arm towards my face. I'm shaking.. I tighten my fist, a wave of determination hitting me.
If I lose, I can at least say proudly, I gave it all I got.
