Azalea's pov

It's been two weeks since our kiss and... nothing happened.

We made out some times, at late in the evening but otherwise, nothing.

It's December now.

Aidens birthday is tomorrow the second of December and it's a pretty big deal, since him turning 19 means him also getting his inheritance.

Even though his father sounded very threatening, I didn't hear from him again.

C said she'll be able to come back to New Years but unfortunately not Christmas.
But, it is what it is.

Mom is still doing amazing.

And apart from what shady Katie said, Liam is definitely not back.

So the last two weeks were pretty uneventful.

I'm currently on a walk with Theo and Eli.

Eli is growing and growing. It's crazy.
And he's being such a good boy.

He really grew on me, just like on everyone else.

"Do you know what to wear tomorrow?"
Theo asks.

Aidens birthday means there's gonna be a big party.
But it's gonna be a 'rich people' party.

So the dress code is gowns and suits.

I definitely won't complain, because Aiden in a suit is my weakness.

"Yeah I do have a dress. And I'm so excited to wear it! What about you?"

"I have everything ready no worries."
Theo answers but I notice him being a little strange today.

"Hey are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine."

I sigh "and you guys say I'm bad."
I roll my eyes.

"What?" He looks up.

"Bad at lying. But then what are you? A catastrophe?"

He chuckles and I immediately feel better.

"No but seriously. Are you okay Theo? You can talk to me."

He lets out a loaded sigh "I know Az and I love you for it. It's just- today is my sisters birthday."

Oh.

OH.

His sister. As in the sister that passed away.

I vaguely knew about his older sister being dead, but we never talked about it. I feel like Theo isn't comfortable talking about, so that's reason enough not to.

"Oh. Let sit down for a sec." I say and we sit down on a bench that overlooks beautiful field after beautiful field.
"Would you maybe like to talk about it now?"

He doesn't answer for a whole minute, probably debating but then he nods.

And he instantly starts talking.
"I know I've never really talked about this, it's because I actually hate talking about it. But my older sister had a car accident about seven years ago.
I know it's been a while but- I still miss her so much every day.
It's just that, I've never told this to anyone." I smile encouragingly at him.

His secrets are more than safe with me.

"The investigator my parents hired, found that she didn't put her seatbelt on and there're no possible reasons for the accident, considering the environment.
So sometimes I ask myself if she left me behind on purpose. But could she really be that selfish? I mean our life wasn't bad or our childhood, but nowadays I have the feeling, she protected or hid a lot from me. Our parents are toxic no question asked there." His voice gets quieter and quieter the more he speaks and my heart breaks for him.
