"Hey, guys, we-" James freezes midsentence. "Why is Y/n crying?"

I hide my face in Remus' chest, not liking having everyone's attention on me.

"What did you do?" Sirius questions Remus.

"Why do you immediately accuse me of doing something?" Remus asks. "A letter arrived for you guys, I'm assuming based on Y/n's reaction that it's from your mum."

Everyone is quiet for a moment and I assume Sirius reads over the letter - I don't know what's happening, I refuse to lift my head from Remus' chest.

I relax slightly as Remus begins gently running his hand through my hair.

"Fuck," Sirius mumbles, seemingly reaching the end of the letter.

"What's going on?" James asks.

"We're being made to go home over the holidays," Sirius answers. "Y/n, are you alright?"

"I don't wanna go," I mumble into Remus' chest. "I'm never moving ever again."

"I have prefect rounds in an hour, so you're going to have to move eventually," Remus says softly.

"No."

"Do you think you'll be able to do rounds with Y/n stuck to your chest?" James jokes.

"I guess I'll have to try," Remus responds. "I don't think she's gonna let go of me."

"I wont," I mumble.

"Okay," He says, pressing a small kiss to the top of my head.

I feel Sirius sit down beside us and he gently places his hand on my arm.

"Y/n?"

"Y/n died," I mumble.

"Can you at least lift your head a little bit so we can discuss this?"

I groan slightly but do as he asked.

"So do you really need to go back there?" James asks.

"Yes, we do," I answer.

"I mean-"

"James, there's no way out of this," I interrupt him.

"But-"

"James."

"She threatened to hurt Regulus if we don't go," Sirius explains.

"Is there maybe any way you could convince him to not go home?" Peter asks.

"Well, we haven't been able to convince him the other million times we've tried," I say sarcastically.

"I'll try and talk to him about it later," Sirius says.

I hide my face in Remus' chest again, no longer wanting to be a part of the world. I smile slightly as he hugs me tightly.

We all sit in an awkward silence for a moment before James speaks again.

"Hey, y'know what'll take our minds off things," He starts. "A prank!"

"James, I don't wanna," I mutter.

"Wanna go upstairs and have a nap?" Remus suggests.

"Yeah, okay," I mumble.

"Alright." He presses another kiss to my head. "Whatever you guys end up doing, try not to get caught for once."

"We never get caught," James says.

"How many detentions have you had in the past month because of pranks?" Remus questions sarcastically and James just glares at him.
