October 31, 2020 – Downtown Busan

On a cold, autumn night in Busan, a young woman named Penny and her dog runs down the street in the middle of the night for an exercise run. She continues to run down the street until her phone rings. She stops to answer it,

"Hello?"

"Hey girl, are you still running? It's almost 1 am," her friend Val says. Penny rolls her eyes and laughs,

"Listen, I've been needing this run all day. Trust me, it's worth it," Penny says, looking at her dog.

"Well, it's getting late. You should come home so we can watch Halloween movies since today is finally Halloween," Val says,

"Of course, I'm on my way home Val, no worries," Penny says,

"Well, you better hurry back because there's a serial killer on the loose. I saw it on the news, just please come home safely," Val says. Penny starts to think about what Val says, forgetting about the sadistic killer that's in the area. Suddenly, Penny's dog starts to growl at the nearby bushes, as if someone was there. Penny looks at her dog and the bushes with a suspicious look on her face. She brushes it off,

"Look, I'm about to head home now, okay? I'll be safe, trust me. Love you," Penny says,

"Fine, you better be. Love you too," Val says. The girls hang up the phone and Penny starts to run down the street with her dog. She starts to think about his reaction to the bushes and becomes nervous. She decides that it's time to go home. As she continues to run down the street, Penny gets the sudden feeling that she is being watched by someone. She looks around and sees a suspicious black car with tinted windows. She looks at it and gets a sickening feeling that something is wrong. Penny runs again with her dog but this time the car starts to move slowly behind her. She looks back and notices the car stopping. Penny starts to realize that the mysterious car is following her and starts to run away with her dog. Suddenly, the car starts again, following her, and she runs faster. The car catches up to her and Penny runs down the alleyway. She hides behind the dumpster and realizes that her dog was no longer to be found. Penny looks down the alleyway and sees a door. She runs to the door and enters the place, running up the stairs. She struggles with her breathing until she hears the door open. A mysterious man wearing all black walks in and looks up. He sees Penny running away and quickly runs up the stairs. Penny tries to open one of the doors, but it was unsuccessful. She feels a strong tug from her ponytail, and she falls down the stairs screaming. She slowly gets up and touches her lips, blood was seeping, and she screams,

"Help me, someone please help!" Penny screams until the man runs down the stairs with his hammer and hits her head. He hits her constantly until her face becomes unrecognizable. The man takes his camera out and takes a picture of her, snickering underneath his mask. He drags the body to his car and enters. The masked crew looks at him in awe, along with a masked woman in the passenger seat,

"What the fuck was taking you so long?" she asked.

"She was annoying me, so I killed the bitch," The man says starting the car and driving off. The crew watches him in awe, curious about his next motives.

October 30, 2021 – Busan, South Korea

On a cold autumn morning, Hannah Matthews enters the classroom for her class. She's currently a student at Busan Arts College for her Psychology degree. Hannah is from New York City, and she decided to move to Busan after a brutal attack that happened to one of her family members. She looks around the classroom and smiles at her three friends, Maria, Yoon, and Elaine. She sits down in her seat, curious about her friends' conversation,

"Hannah, hey girl. We have something to tell you, love," Maria says mischievously. Hannah looks at her curiously,

"What's going on?" she asks.

"Well, we were thinking about having a little sleepover together just cause. You wanna join us?" Elaine says. Hannah becomes curious. She knew she needed this time to relax after all the hard work from school and work,

"Sure, sounds like fun," Hannah says,

"Nice, I'm gonna see if I can get some food for tonight. What do you guys want?" Yoon asks the girls. Yoon is Hannah's closest friend since she moved to Busan and has been there for her since the brutal attack that happened,

"Hmm, maybe some pizza or oh! Mozzarella corn dogs would be perfect!" Elaine says excitedly,

"I'll see what I can do," Yoon says until Professor Woo enters the classroom. She places her stuff down and sighs,

"Alright everyone, we won't stay here for long since I have some stuff I need to do. So, let's get this over with. Today's lesson is the psychology of serial killers," Professor Woo says turning on her computer. Hannah becomes curious about the subject since she was a big fan of learning about serial killers and true crime,

"Before I get started, I want to start by saying that if this kind of stuff triggers you, please leave the class immediately. I'll send you some notes for you to study since we'll be looking at some very graphic pictures today. Leave now or forever hold your peace," she said. The students look at each other curiously, waiting for her to start,

"Okay, you asked for it. Let's get into the events of Halloween 2020," The professor says turning on the presentation. A young woman with a beautiful smile was shown on the screen,

"This is Penelope Brunson. She was one of our students here and unfortunately was found dead at the nearby dumpster at the school. It was stated that she was hunted down by some strange man, and she ended up getting brutally attacked by him," Professor Woo says. She brings up a picture of the woman with a mangled face, unrecognizable from her last picture. Hannah starts to feel nauseous from looking at the pictures,

"My god..." Yoon says in awe.

"It's also been stated that it may have not been just him. It was possibly more people behind the attack," Professor Woo says. Maria raises her hand,

"Yes, dear?" Professor Woo asks,

"Do you know if he's still on the loose?" Maria asks. Professor Woo was taken aback by her question and thinks about it,

"I'm not sure. I don't believe he was caught. I hope someone will catch him though so she can have her justice," Professor Woo says. Hannah becomes frightened at the thought that the killer could be anywhere right now,

"Okay, class. Now let's get started on the lesson," Professor Woo says, starting the lesson.

One hour later

Hannah and her friends leave the classroom and head to the parking lot to their cars,

"So, you girls still on for the sleepover?" Elaine says. Suddenly, Hannah gets the sudden feeling that she's being watched. She looks back and notices that no one was there until she sees a mysterious black car parked. Hannah shakes it off, thinking that it was one of the students' cars,

"Hey, Hannah? You good?" Maria asks. Hannah looks back at her and smiles,

"Yeah, I'm good. So, we're doing this sleepover or what?" Hannah says,

"Hell yeah, I'll see you guys later tonight and bring the goodies. Bye!" Elaine says leaving, along with Maria. Yoon and Hannah wave at the girls and smile,

"Yoon, I need to talk to you," Hannah says,

"What's wrong?" Yoon asks,

"I feel like someone is watching us—" Hannah says but was cut off when she saw the black car was no longer there,

"What's up, Hannah?" Yoon asks, once again. Hannah shakes her head in confusion,

"I could've sworn there was a car there," Hannah said,

"Okay, Han. Let's head to the store to pick some food up for tonight. I'm sure there was no one watching us," Yoon says. Hannah and Yoon leave the parking lot and enter their car, driving off. Hannah starts to get the sickening feeling that something was wrong.
