"all right, what about 'johnny lawrence karate" or "strike hard karate"?" miguel proposed.

gioia and johnny sat at johnny's round wooden table. the man was reading over his and ali mills schwarber's messages, while gioia was reading an actual book, the seven husbands of evelyn hugo, to be specific.

"come on, guys, i'm trying to help us think of names for our new dojo." miguel sighed as he took the seat in between them.

"what about... all valley karate." gioia suggested.

"your lack of creativity seriously concerns me." miguel sighed.

"you asked for my help!"

"how long does it take for facebook messages to get delivered?" johnny finally spoke. "ali lives in colorado, so probably a while, right?"

"it's instantaneous," miguel stated.

johnny slammed his computer shut, which made gioia smile. "may-maybe she actually has a life."

"something you don't have." johnny shot back, making her frown.

miguel cut their conversation short, "okay. what about 'all american karate'?"

"at least mine was more vague." gioia scoffed.

"she's right... it's not good enough." johnny shook his head. "we need something that tells everyone we're the most badass dojo in the valley."

"yeah." miguel agreed, "it sucks that cobra kai's such a badass name."

"what if we just keep that? but we spell cobra with a k." johnny suggested, "they can call us triple k."

gioia glanced up from her book, looking at the man in doubt. she was baffled at how out of touch he was with reality. "seriously?"

"like kkk?" miguel asked.

johnny cringed. "yeah, it's probably a bad idea." he sighed. "all right, whatever. we'll figure it out. first, we need some students."

"it's my first day back at school today, i could do some recruiting." miguel explained. "and i'm sure gb could get hawk to join." he winked at her. he knew there was always something going on with them, even though she never mentioned it.

gioia didn't even look up from the book she was reading, not wanting to begin to explain how much she currently disliked that boy.

"okay..." miguel gave her a look at the lack of emotion she had at his joke. "but where are we gonna train?"

"you let me worry about that."

"let's hope it's not in some old, smelly w-warehouse." gioia shivered in disgust as she thought of it.
