*Jakes pov*
Clay keeps looking at me funny. Is there something going on? I'm getting mixed signals.
"Hey clay?" I ask him.
"Ye-yeah?"
"You excited to see Maya again!" I question him, seeing if that would be the answer.
Clay took a deep breath out, in relief... From what?
"Yeah! I'm thrilled! I'm super hyped for you to meet her!" Clay says in excitement.
"Oh. Sweet brother!" I replied.
"Why you ask?"
"Just curious." I say back.
That was true though... Maybe he's just excited or has relief of what's been happening in the last 18 hours. I think. I hope.
*Clays pov*
That was weird.
I thought he was going to ask what I thought about him. But it was also true what I said about Maya.
So I hope I don't sound to suspicious.
"How long are we away?" I ask Sam.
"I don't know brother?" He sack back to me then looks at Hunter.
"Really both of you-" he says in disappointment.
"What?" I cut him off.
"We are two hours away." He continues.
"Like they told us like 20 minutes ago!" Colby yelled.
"Shut up toddler!" Corey yelled at Colby.
"Oh, well- it's true! So there!" He defend himself.
*Zacks pov*
I look at the short wooden signs poking out of the grass on the side of the road.
"Hey guys?" I say to get there attention.
"What's up brother?" Corey replys.
"Look at the side of the road- what do they say?" I asked them to read it for me.
"Uhhh, this one said- do not go past here?" Jake read out.
"Who would do that anyway?" Colby said.
"Only the ones who put it there." I say blankly, because of how easy the answer is.
"True brother!" Sam said.
"Oh and this one- once you cross this line you won't return in one piece?" Clay read giving shivers.
"That's definitely not scary at all!" Corey said in a sarcastic tone.
"Stay away!" Jake read out again. "A classic-" he replied to the note.
"I know right!" I replied.
"Are there still some there?" I ask them.
"Yeah, there's a ton but some say the same thing or are just the usual frightening notes."
"Hey! Listen to this!" Colby yelped.
"I even regret leaving this behind?" He continued.
"Even the sign?" Jake asks.
"No I think there's something there!" Sam spoke up.
"Can we go get it!" Jake yelped.
"Fuck no!" Corey yells.
"You heard the man, fuck no." I agree with Corey.
