"You of all people should know how tough decisions actually are."

🏹🏹🏹

THE NEXT DAY, GLENN AND MAGGIE HAD DECIDED TO go on a supply run into the local area. After having something to eat, Elaina watched them leave promptly. The others were left to tend to the daily duties at the prison. After tending to the dishes, Ameena had promised to teach Elaina some defence moves.

"I'm heading outside," Elaina said to Montana and Wayne, who were sitting at the same table. "I'll see you in a few?"

"Where are you going?" Wayne asked.

"Ameena is going to teach me some moves," Elaina responded, grabbing her bow.

"How's dancing going to help you in the apocalypse?" Wayne smirked.

"Break dancing has been proven to kill them," Elaina teased. "A new hypothesis I came up with."

Wayne rolled his eyes and laughed. "Alright, Dr Hutton."

Elaina laughed. "See you both soon."

"Be safe out there!" Montana called out.

"Will do!" Elaina replied.

"Good to see that Wayne is happier," Ameena said as they walked into the courtyard of the prison. T-Dog and Daryl were out at the fence, killing off walkers.

"I'm glad," Elaina admitted. They made it to a quiet spot beside the steps Elaina usually climbed up every day. Elaina watched as Ameena took off her belt that held her knife.

"What are you taking that off for?"

"So it doesn't hit you," Ameena replied. "Okay, hit me Laina."

Elaina raised her eyebrow. "What?"

"Hit me," she said, urging her. "Go on."

Elaina was hesitant, but then she remembered she was out here for defence lessons. Elaina clenched her hand into a fist and threw it at Ameena, who grabbed it and pushed it back.

"Too obvious," Ameena responded. "You need to be sneaky. Go in for something obvious. When they counteract it, do something sneaky. Try again."

Elaina clenched her fist again, swinging for Ameena, who grabbed her first. Elaina then used her leg to kick Ameena back. Ameena stumbled, nearly falling, but Elaina pulled her back.

"Not bad," she chuckled. "Let's do this again."

Elaina nodded, kicking Ameena in the leg again. Ameena grabbed Elaina's leg, pushing her backwards.

"Woah, stop, stop!" Elaina said, panicking.

"Don't worry," she smiled, putting her leg down. "That's something you need to be careful about, Elaina. The minute you're on the ground, that's when you're vulnerable. Try deflecting my punch."
