Patches and Y/n exchanged looks for a few moments. The class started to shift uncomfortably due to the tension between their professor and the emo guy that quite literally saw the unseen cameras at the exam. Eventually, Patches dropped all the tension and marked Y/n down on his scroll. The paper kind, mind you.
Patches: Alrighty. Neopolitan... No last name listed?
Neo lifted a hand. Patches marked accordingly.
Patches: Cardin Winchester?
Cardin also lifted his hand. Patches looked at the three, then to his printed out student attendance chart. He found team CYN at the middle of the page, then laughed.
Patches: And I thought I had my work cut out for me.
He then moved on with attendance, as if he didn't just tip Cardin off his axis.
'Why the actual fuck does this random bald man know more about Y/n than I do? Matter of fact, I don't even know anything about Y/n.'
Cardin decided that it was about ime he at least got an explanation for the professor situation. Anything more personal can come later.
When Patches finished with attendance, he simply sat at his desk. Of course, he had left quite the impression on the students. All of them were on high alert, not making noise and being absolutely concentrated on their environment. At one point, a girl dropped her pencil. The entire classroom flinched because of the sudden noise. Well, except for Patches and Y/n.
Patches: Y/n L/n.
'Welp, I knew this was coming. Will I have to kill him? I really don't want to fuck up the first day at Beacon...'
Y/n: Yes, professor?
Patches: Meet me outside the class, please.
He stood up and walked towards the door. He halted in the doorway, which was Y/n's que to go down with him. With a sigh, Y/n stood up and began making his way towards him. As he got to the bottom of the steps, he saw Neo holding her scroll.
'Be careful.'
Y/n nodded, then walked outside with Patches. Once they were out and the door was shut behind them, they just stood there for a moment. Y/n realized that Patches was waiting on him again.
Y/n: So, professor Patches? It has a ring to it. Way better than Unbreakable.
Patches: Yeah, because going from the most feared creature across world's to a school boy is so much better than being a professor.
Y/n: Patches, you know me. I know you. We're both here for a reason that benefits us. My only curiosity is why the sneakiest son of Marika is teaching here?
Patches: When you spend your life in hell then wake up in a place like this, you have a change of heart. Clearly, all that's changed out of you is the fact that you have flesh.
Y/n: Oh, that's a low blow.
However, the hunter made no attempt to deny the fact that his largest change was species.
Patches: But, if you let it slip about me, then I'll let it slip about you.
Y/n: And vice versa.
...
Patches: We're at an impass. Though, I don't think you'd kill me even if you wanted to.
Y/n: Oh come on, we've been here for half an hour. There's no way you have a sense of my motives this early.
Patches: That girly you're attracted to? She's in on it. Though, I don't think that the other boy is. He didn't recognize runic or anything like your girlfriend did.
