The Next Day
The Mall

"What do you think of this?" Eli asked as he emerged from the dressing room wearing a white shirt and grey pants.

Lainey gasped at the sight of him. The shirt was almost too tight. But it somehow fit him perfectly. Her eyes raked his body - and she could see his tattoo through the back of his shirt.

"You look... very good."

The words almost caught in her throat as she struggled to catch her breath to comprehend just how good he looked.

Eli grinned. "You think so?"

"I know so."

"Shall I get a jacket to go with it?" he asked his girlfriend as he looked at himself in the mirror.

"You could do." Lainey nodded.

Eli watched as Lainey walked towards the clothes and picked out a grey jacket that matched his pants.

"This one," she said as she handed it to him.

He slipped into it with ease and Lainey smiled.

"God, you look so handsome."

Eli chuckled, his face reddened. Despite them being together, it still made him blush whenever she complimented him.

"Where shall we go to get you something to wear?" Eli asked.

"I have no clue.. I'm not sure what I want to wear."

"What's the occasion, might I ask?" one of the store employees asked with a smile.

"We're going to the country club tonight."

The woman smiled. "That sounds lovely!" She looked at Eli. "Well, if you're wearing that - maybe something elegant?"

Lainey nodded. "Not a dress, though."

"How about a romper?"

"A romper?" Eli asked, head tilted as he watched the woman walk towards the ladies section. "What's a romper?" he asked Lainey.

"You'll see," Lainey responded.

They watched as the woman walked off to a section of the store and came back moments later with a few items in her hands.

"We have a few different styles," she explained as she held up rompers of different lengths.

Lainey's eyes fell on a light grey/rose coloured romper.

It had a corset style top with cami straps. It was flowy and seemed like a dress but was actually a romper.

"I'll try this."

The woman nodded as Lainey took the item to try on. As she emerged from the dressing room. Eli's face lit up. She looked beautiful. It looked like a dress, but it wasn't. The material flowed just above her knees. She looked so pretty. She always did. But now she looked like a princess. His princess.

"Do you like it?" Lainey asked.

"You look beautiful." Eli grinned.

"It does suit you!" the woman smiled.

"You think?" Lainey asked as she examined herself in the mirror.

"Definitely!"

"What shoes would I wear? I can't wear my docs."

"I have the shoes to match it. Well, heels that are the same colour," the woman said with a smile.

"Oh, that'll be amazing!"
