Lainey's phone buzzed, it woke her up. She leaned across the nightstand and grabbed it. She had several messages asking where she was.
Shit.
She sat upright as she realised where she was. Still in Eli's bed. Sam asked where she was, so had Anthony. Messages flooded their group chat.
LaRusso Spawn
Sam: Where are you?
Hello?
Breakfast or not?
Anthony: Did you die?
So no burrito for me?
Sam: Don't say that!
Anthony: I'm kidding
Jeez
It's obvious where she is, anyway
She's with Eli
Sam: How do you know that?
Anthony: Because she's not here
Duh
Sam: I'm next door, just come and talk to me
Anthony: No

Lainey: Stop you idiots
Sam: Finally!
Wtf, Lainey?
Lainey: Sorry
Fell asleep
Anthony: Sure you did
An exhausting night for you, sis?
Lainey: stfu
Anthony: Make me
So, Smitty's diner?
Lainey: See you there in about 20 minutes
Anthony: You better had, Sam isn't paying for me
Sam: :(
Lainey replied with a middle finger emoji and turned to face a sleeping Eli. She kissed him softly, waking him up.
"Good morning," she whispered.
"Good morning." He hummed lightly.
"I've got to go, your mom will kill me if she sees me here."
"I think she's at work now."
"Really?"
"Should be."
"What time does she leave?"
"Around 9."
"It's only half 8."
"Oh..."
"I'll check and see if the coast is clear?"
"Go ahead," Eli whispered.
He watched as she climbed out of the bed in her shorts and his hoodie.
She quietly opened the door, as she did she saw a figure rush through the hallways. She caught the back of a man. Alarmed, she peered through and saw Eli's mom with this person.
She closed the door.
"Yeah... She's here."
"Eli?" his mom called. "Are you awake?"
