While the mermen slept at each other's side, the nameless prince stood on his balcony. From the ground, it would look as if he was deep in thought, and indeed he was.

In his mind, he heard this song of sorrow echoing again and again. From his faulty memory, he recalls a face.

A beautiful one. One framed with fiery red hair and dark red eyes. He can see the blurry yet striking face singing, but he cannot place who it is.

But he knows, or rather, he feels, deep in his heart, the stirring of feelings he hasn't felt in years. He gazed longingly out to the sea, praying—to any and all of the gods—that he would find this man.
