Humans are typically described as emotional and sentimental beings; at least, the "normal" ones. And it's becoming apparent that so are mers, is it not?

And that's okay, the problem arises when one refuses to face their emotions and acknowledge they exist. It is simply impossible not to feel. You can trick yourself into believing that you don't, but somewhere deep inside, in the place no one enters, not even oneself.

And they brew. They brew until it's too much to be contained by the cell they were placed in. And so they erupt, with all other negative emotions following suit.

It's best to allow yourself to be human once in a while. And, watching the mer prince and his lover embrace even in unconsciousness, I have a feeling that this love is one of my favorites. One where both parties accept, understand, and communicate with the other. A relationship that does end in a happily ever after. A healthy one.
