This day was the same as the day before. She was staring, something that she does when she's in a daze. Feet standing still by the edge of the patio which was her favorite part of the mansion, feeling the hot breeze graze her skin.

Her eyes watched the bright color of flame, swaying smoothly in accordance with the flow of wind. The mesmerizing sight of the night sky filled with sparkling stars (or maybe that's just how the world looks in the eyes of a child) complimented the smell of burning wood which felt warm, earthy--like she was being hugged by nature itself, and reassuring.

Except that it wasn't reassuring

Lily blinked owlishly. Why am I outside? I thought Mom put me to bed.

Her questions stopped at the sight in front of her. Eyes blowing wide in confusion and fear

She was in utter distress, looking around for anyone to ask but it seems like she was the only one outside. Did they leave her? Why was she alone? More importantly, how did she get outside at this time?

Lily could feel the thumping of her heart increase by the minute. Her breathing was getting uneven with the anxious feeling inside her. Why was the Mansion burning? Did a burglar try to sneak in? That doesn't sound logical at all.

Oh god oh god oh god oh god! what's happening?! Where's mom? Should I go inside and look for her? What if everyone is still inside? I don't think that's possible but there's always a maybe. I'm scared, I wanna see mom I'm scared---

Her thoughts were cut off when she's sees the bloody mess on her nightgown. They looked fresh, still wet, and warm to the touch (or maybe it was the wind). Her hands had wet blood coating them with a rather thick amount.

Now that she thinks about it, her feet lacked any shoes and they were full of cuts, blisters even. Her stomach churns most uncomfortably. Lily was breathing heavily at this point and she could no longer keep it in. She keels down, clutching her stomach shakily as she threw up. It was sickening, the smell, the feeling, the sight of everything.
