𝑇𝑂𝐷𝐴𝑌 𝑊𝐴𝑆 𝑉𝐴𝐿𝐸𝑁𝑇𝐼𝑁𝐴'𝑆 𝐹𝐼𝑅𝑆𝑇 day on the job. Hotch had already shown her where her desk was and where everything could go along with a small tour so she could get a feel of the place and now, Valentina was just bringing her stuff in from her car.
Valentina had a cardboard box with all her work belongings in it and just as she arrived at her desk, she saw a chess board in front of Spencer and Gideon walking over to move a piece. "Check."
"Checkmate in three moves." Valentina spoke up, seeing that Gideon had already beaten Spencer. Speaking of whom, Spencer's eyes flickered from the girl and to the chessboard. Gideon only smirked and walked off as Spencer's expression was an extremely confused one. "What?"
"If you think outside the box, you might actually beat him." Valentina commented, getting Spencer to look up from his board. "I don't recall asking for your input."
"Well, maybe you should take it, genius." Valentina spoke with a smirk.
Spencer only sighed as a response. He had only spent one day with Valentina and he could not get a guess on what this girl was like. One minute, she was completely engulfed in the case and her instincts were completely taking over, creating helpful hints to identify an unsub, but soon after, would be teasing Spencer for anything she could find.
"So, Hotch actually hired you." Spencer began, trying to appear above the girl due to the clear competition these two were inevitably going to be forced to have. Valentina only sent him a sarcastic smile, not finding his condescension amusing.
"Well, it's good to have you here, Dr. Barnes." Morgan greeted as he got up from his desk, standing at the side of Spencer and Valentina's desk that were right across from each other. "Please, call me Valentina."
