Serena's POV
Josh came to help you load the 'diplomatic crates' onto the ship. "I've noticed you and Felix are getting closer." You stated passing him the crate up the ladder. He looked down at you. "Yeah, I guess you could say that." He blushed climbing back down. "Hey, don't be embarrassed, it's sweet." You smiled at him. He gave you a soft smile. You turned to go grab the last crate when Josh said. "Hey, do you see that weird guy in a trench coat." You glanced to your left. "Is that a monkey." You whispered. The figure made eye contact, walking towards you. "Yeah, definitely a monkey." He whispered laughing. "Greetings Pirate. I bet you're wondering who I am?" The figure spoke. "Yeah, that thought did occur." Josh joked. The figure rolled his eyes. "I am, The Monkey King, I am a friend of El Toro, you see once apart of the same crew." He gazed at the clouds. You waved your hand in front of his face, "you know we can't see your memory flashback right." You stated. Josh smirked crossing his arms. "Anyway... he sent word that the map was being pieced together once more... I assume you're here for that reason." He spoke. "You see, there are many untruth folks here Pirate." He spoke. "Yeah and how do we know your aren't one of them?" Josh said placing a hand on his blade.You pushed his hand, placing the blade back in its sling. "Pirate, the path you're headed to, is dangerous those who enter the dead lands, he curses them." "He?" Josh questioned raising an eyebrow. "I will guide you, any friend of Toro's is a friend of mine." He spoke. "Fine, let's board and get this over with" josh spoke climbing up the ladder. You gestured your hands, the monkey leaping off his staff landing perfectly aboard the ship. You rolled your eyes, "show off." You mumbled climbing up.
"Guys, this is-" "Monkey King, Pleasure is all mine children's of Pollo's crew." He spoke bowing. "Huh, you know that as well." Felix said. Monkey king slowly walked up to Kai, "you look just like your mother." He smiled. "I take it you're a swashbuckler like her, as well." Kai lightly smiled, flashing his mother's engraved dagger. Monkey King smiled. "Shall we set sail? Times ticking." He spoke. Faith nodded raising the sails.
"Slow her to a stop, we don't want to draw attention." Monkey King stated. "Uh so why the trench coat if you already told us who you are." "Oh, you're right Pirate." He said, he placed his tail, springing into a backflip, landing adorned in a crown and golden armor. "I like your crown." Ryan laughed. "Thanks, it keeps me from killing you." He spoke going to leave the ship. "Wha- you can't just drop that bomb monkey." Kai said grabbing his arm."woah Pirate, calm down, Toro put the helmet of control inside it, so now I listen to only my captain, or well, was my captain." He mumbled the last part. "Anywho, Paths of Penance on the right, first stop amber horde." He smiled leaping off the ship. Faith rolled her eyes. Kai shrugging his shoulders following suit. "mY nAmEs kAI, I cAn FlIp." Faith teased. You laughed, springing off the side of the ship. "Show off." Felix laughed. You snuck your way past fields of horde. Monkey king paused behind a broken cart, "see that giant tower, that is where HE reins, he kidnapped those students that went missing with Egg Foo. You'll find them at the top." You set your eyes on the tower, storm clouds and red lightning formed above pouring rain. "Seems inviting enough." Felix said smiling. "You're excited about this?" Ryan scoffed. You pushed past the boys heading to the tower, "come on, we've dealt with worse." You turned your head grinning.
"Alright, be ready for anything." Josh said holding his shield. Ryan shot the locks on the door. He blew the smoke off his pistols. "That's my favorite part." He smirked. You 6 followed monkey king inside. "First floor, Pig Warriors, lucky enough not ninja pigs." Monkey king smirked, bouncing over the Enemies slicing two of them. Josh intercepted an axe throw, hurling it right back knocking out 3 pigs. Felix closed his eyes, hovering over the floor. Shooting several green fiery blasts knocking out the rest. "Nice, this should be easy enough." Faith cheered. "Don't jinx us Pirate." Monkey King said walking towards the next room. "Second floor,Necromancers." He stated. 2 of the necromancer pigs summoned some undead, then charging towards the group. Ryan fired his rifle knocking the staff out of 2 of the necromancers hands. You hurtled your daggers landing in their chests. Faith twirling slicing scattering all the bones. "Remind me to stay on your good side Pirates." Monkey king laughed. You followed suit on the next 6 floors. "Geez, are we there yet?" Josh complained. "Actually, yes Pirate." Monkey King said.
Monkey King knocked on the door. "Why the hell did you knock." Kai yelled in a whisper. "To be polite." He simply stated. He opened the door. At a table sat 5 pirates and one cow adorned in red robes. "Ah, Pirates, we've been expecting you. Monkey King? Oh it has been long." He smirked. "Hello Moo Mancho. I see the stash has grown back." He smirked. "Yes, but I have turned the other cheek forgiving you and your friends." He smiled tilting his head. You glanced at the table, sat around staring right at the 6 of you sat the missing Students. Faithless Josef Hawkins, Disloyal Lynne Finkle, Ignoble Jonathan Ashburn, Insensitive Faye Jennings, & Unreliable Benjamin Wright."guys, it's the missing students." Felix whispered. One student stood up offering everyone cups of punch. "You see I now teach how to aid others," Kai and faith took sips of their cups. "Mm is this passion fruit." Kai said taking another sip. Felix raised his eyebrows, taking a sip. "Wow it is good. Josh try some." Felix said shoving the cup in Josh's face. "Woah," he said slowly taking a sip, nodding. "That is, with the help of the potion they kind of have to listen, but now they're the best smugglers in the spiral." Moo Manchu evily grinned. Ryan's eyes widened right as he had raised the cup to his lips. You threw your cup at the ground. "Oh don't act like that Pirate." You began to back up. "Uh, Serena.." Ryan said pointing. Faith and Kai held their heads, their eyes widened glowing red, straightening up staring at you. You glanced to your right. The same happening to Josh and Felix. "Let them go, we aren't playing your sick games." Ryan spat raising his pistols at Moo Mancho's head. he chuckled raising his staff, the ruby glowing bright. "You dare spurn my generous offer? Alright. Minions, Get Rid of Them." He stated retreating up the stairs. "Ryan.." you said as Josh grinned raising his blade. "Pirate!on your left!" Monkey king yelled. You turned your head, as Faye Jennings (the privy) sent a kick to your ribs. You fell into the table. Groaning. "Serena!" Ryan yelled, firing at Joseph and Josh. Monkey King charged at Kai, leaping into the air, Felix smashing him into the ground with a bolt of lightning. You struggled to your feet. You pulled out your blades, "shadow dance." You whispered disappearing into a cloud of smoke. "Agh!" Ryan yelled shooting the daggers out of Kai's hands. Monkey king sat on Josh's head, clawing at his back. "Ahhh! AHHH" josh yelled running into a pillar. "1 down, 8 to go." Ryan yelled as Lynne (the WitchDoctor)and Felix raising him in a bubble off the ground. "Ryan!" You yelled, hurling a string of daggers , bursting the bubble. Monkey king swung over, catching him. "Thanks King of the Monkeys." Ryan said patting his head. "That's not my name." He said as he kicked Joseph. (The Buccaneer). You snuck up, smacking Faith in the head really hard, she fell backward knocking out. "Sorry, I'm sorry!" You yelled in a whisper as you reappeared. Ryan threw a knock out gas bomb, the aroma hitting the poisoned friends. They all began coughing falling to their knees. You frowned at the pain you were causing. Ryan pulled you back, Monkey King appearing on your left. "Hey it's okay, they'll thank us later." Monkey king pointed at those on the ground. "1..3..7, there's one missing. Ryan's eyes widened as your body stiffened. Monkey king howled, smacking Jonathan(the swashbuckler) with his staff. Ripping his last knife throwing it across the room. You fell to your knees, Ryan caught you before you hit the ground. "Uhghh." Kai groggily said standing up. "Serena! Hey, it's okay, it's okay." You coughed, spattering a little blood on his jacket. "Serena!" Kai yelled, the yell loud enough to wake Faith and Felix. They moaned struggling to their feet. Faith rubbed her head glancing up noticing the pool of blood. Kai and Ryan supported your head as you laid on your side. "We can't just pull it out!" "We have to get her to the infirmary now!" "If you pull out the knife she'll bleed out." Everyone frantically spoke. Faith pushed Ryan aside, she closed her eyes hurriedly mumbling an enchant. The knife dissolving from existence. You twitched and coughed up some more blood. "Kai.." you stuttered. "Use the thorns." You whispered as he leaned down. He frowned. "Thorns? You mean... as stitches?" You nodded in pain. Felix glanced at him. "Just focus, you know what you're doing man." He encouraged. Your eyes fluttered. "Oh no, don't you close those eyes on us." Josh tried to joke. Felix gave a small smile. You tried to smile, your vision fading, your eyes dramatically closing.
