The past - 4 month before Sukunas downfall
The meadow of his childhood seemed more lively and blossomed with brighter pigments then he remembered from before. The stream was crystal clear and the sun hit every flower at the perfect angle.
Was it because they came during spring, but even he knew what his mothers meadow looked like during this season, so it wasn't the weather.
Sukuna gazes to his side, watching y/n crouch beside a flower, pointing at it with a smile, and her lips moving as she spoke to herself.
Perhaps it was her that made this place seem so much more beautiful.
"Sukuna?" She says in a soft tone that dripped like honey in his ears.
"Mm?" He mumbles back, turning his body to hers.
"Do you think others know about this place? It's very beautiful." She says, a smile warming the mood between them.
"Possibly. It's not far from the main road." He replies, gazing back at the thick forest they came through.
Sukuna turns back, shocked to see y/n sitting on the grass beside him, gazing up at the trees that overhung the meadow.
"If I die, i'd want to be buried somewhere nice, like this." She smiles.
Sukuna didn't understand why she'd be thinking about death in a place like this. Even so, Sukuna has made sure she wouldn't age, so they could live their lives together. So why would she be thinking about something like that.
"You think about your death?" He asks, leaving into the knuckles he rested upon his cheek.
"Hm?" She pouts, gazing up at him. "Of course, shouldn't everyone?" She waits for his answer as the wind gales past the two.
Present
Sukuna spits out blood, clenching onto his trident. His breath was heavy, and he found it difficult to think of which attack to use next. "Why must I think about that now?"
His body was tiring, and it showed from the many wounds and bruises that were now visible. He couldn't waste his energy on small cuts like these, and the human body was now beyond even Sukuna's limits.
The forest had been flattened, and the building was barely standing. Akio a few hundred metres ahead of him, lifts himself off the grass with a katana.
There wasn't time for rest as the two took a moment to breath before they attacked each other again.
Sukuna blocks Akio's blade with the handle of the trident, pushing him back. With a swipe of his dagger, while dodging Akio's swinging leg, Sukuna slices down on his forearm.
The trident plunges forwards, causing the thunder to clap, igniting the weapon in lighting for a short moment. He kicks Akio, projecting him several metres ahead.
Sukuna, in the blink of an eye chases him down, skilfully attacking him, however Akio conjures his weapons again, blocking his attack from the trident.
Sukuna engulfs the dagger in flames, extending it beyond the blade. He drops to the floor, spinning on his foot to attack low and out of Akio's sight.
