"Testing... testing..." Shez said to the microphone. Alcryst checked if everything was in order. However, he still felt the entire idea was pointless.
Alcryst muttered, "I don't think this is the best idea. I'm so idiotic for remotely thinking about this idea."
"But this can help us talk to the heroes better, we have no idea what happened those in Liyue and we don't know what's going on in Firene..." Shez explained.
Alcryst replied, "But this has to be my worst idea to date! I don't want to be useful but... I can't..."
"Alcryst..." Shez looked around the room and noticed how quiet the place was. Multiple heroes were doing their own things trying to protect the scrolls. "Huh... it just seems like there's nobody here..." Alcryst looked around the room and back at Shez.
Alcryst sighed, "My stupid idea probably had them run away from me... how unfortunate."
"No, that isn't true at all. You are a great person and you have nothing to worry about. The heroes are probably doing something else," Shez replied. Alcryst looked down at himself and back at Shez.
Alcryst said with a slight smile, "I've been feeling really down. Thank you for thinking about me."
"Of course, you're a team member and you'll always be important to me. You have so many good ideas but you just don't seem confident enough to explain those ideas. I know you're better than this," Shez said with a smile. Alcryst looked at him and took a deep breath.
Alcryst replied, "You're right. I need to learn to let myself enjoy who I am. I have such a struggle with being able to like myself. It's been really hard on me personally, I just don't know what to do."
"I see... if you want any type of support I'm going to be here by your side. Together, we will find a way to see if we can find a way to snap Byleth out of it. I can say that for sure," Shez said with a smile. Alcryst looked at him and nodded.
Alcryst sighed, "I barely got to meet Byleth when he was his normal self but he was kind and caring. When we talked during the deep cut concert back in Dvina he was so kind to me..." Alcryst looked down at himself and remembered the events like it was yesterday...
Byleth asked, "Are you doing alright?"
"It's fine, I just am a struggle to deal with, am I? I apologize, I'll get out of your way," Alcryst sighed.
Byleth groaned, "You're not a burden Alcryst! It's fine, me and you will do this together."
Alcryst sighed, "If you say so... I'm not perfect in any shape or form..."
"That doesn't matter, you are fine just the way you are, okay? I know you have it in you," Byleth said with reassurance.
Alcryst sighed, "He was so kindhearted... thinking about if I was doing okay. Telling me that I wasn't a burden when I know I am. I just don't know how to feel. I'm just glad I even had a chance to see his true self. Even if he isn't that person anymore..." Shez looked at Alcryst and took off the headphones. He walked over to Alcryst and gave him a hug.
Shez whispered, "I just wanted to give you a hug. You sometimes look like you need it."
"I believe I do... I joined the team after Mario's passing and I still feel guilty about it. We barely understand Byleth's motive behind killing Mario besides that he wanted to for fun. Yet I doubt that's the whole story behind it, he has to be hiding something," Alcryst replied.
Shez said, "I see... I'm curious about his true intentions on why he wanted to kill Mario. Mario was the best team leader and well... I just don't see why Byleth wanted to kill him."
"We need to know what exactly was going through his head in order for him to act this way and want to murder Mario brutally, this is just so uncalled for and so unlike him," Alcryst responded. Shez nodded as the two looked at each other and smiled.
Shez sighed, "I just... I just want my boyfriend back. Byleth understood me more than any other team member did, I just miss when we did understand each other. I miss seeing him smile, his actual smile rather than one filled with insanity. Byleth just isn't who he is supposed to be anymore..."
"Shez..." Alcryst hugged Shez gently as the two hugged one another. Alcryst felt tears coming down from Shez's face. They just hugged in silence. Afraid of the future, what exactly Byleth was planning to do besides trying to harm those in his way. Alcryst was afraid of that, Shez was afraid of that, the whole team was scared.
Shez cleared his tears and said, "We need to see if we can contact those in Liyue and in Firene. I'm scared Byleth already got their scrolls and we need to check in if they're okay. Their communicators aren't on and it's leaving me worried."
"I agree, let me see if I can find a way to see if I can find where they are," Alcryst sighed. While Shez went back to test the mic to see if he could send certain messages to the heroes in the meantime. Alcryst did all he could to find them but there were no traces coming up. He wasn't a genius, but he wanted to at least try. Alcryst looked up to the ceiling and took a deep breath.
Shez asked, "Are you alright Alcryst?"
Alcryst responded, "Yes..." He looked at the communicator and took a deep breath. "What if they are harmed? What if there's a possibility that they died but Byleth hacked the communicators to make them appear as if they were alive? This is leaving me too afraid..."
Shez sighed, "Whatever our friends are doing. I'm praying they're doing safe out there. It's a tough world out there, especially with Byleth trying to take the scrolls one by one. This is scaring me a whole lot."
Alcryst looked one more time at the ceiling and put his hand up to it. "Why... Why did you decide it was best to go against the heroes? Why do you believe I'm a demon from the underworld? None of this makes sense to me... Byleth, I just pray we can find a way to heal you..."
Shez asked once again, "Alcryst? Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yes, I am..."
