At that moment interrupting us was a high-pitched noise. I instantly put my hands over my ears until it stopped.

"Worthy." A dark low voice said from the darkness. "No." He turned around and stepped into the light revealing a very badly damaged, like he was just mad out of scrap of the Iron legion robot's. His voice changing as he spoke. "You're all killers." I stood up watching him.

"Stark." Steve said asked for an explanation.

"JARVIS." Tony asked.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or I was a-dream." The robot said.

"Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit." Tony said.

"There was this terrible noise. And I was tangled in... In... Strings. I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy." The Robot said.

"You killed someone?" Steve asked.

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices." The robot explained.

"Who sent you?" Thor asked.

"I see a suit of armor around the world." The robot spoke from a recording of Tony.

"Ultron." Banner said.

"In the flesh. Or, no, not yet." The robot or Ultron said. "Not this chrysalis. But I'm ready. I'm on mission."

"What mission?" Nat asked as Hill loaded her gun and Thor tightly gripped his Hammer.

"Peace in our time." Ultron said as Stark robots crashed through the walls beside Ultron flying towards us. Steve quickly kicked up the table as one slammed into it throwing him backwards.
Hill stared shooting while here back was on the floor as Thor knocked one away with his Hammer.
I ducked as one flew past me throwing Tony into bookshelves and slamming Rhodey into glass below falling to the next floor.

"Rhodey!" Hill yelled.

I stood up as everyone else was focused on everything and didn't bother to look at me. I turned to the side as one came flying right at me. I held my hand out and swung it to the side slamming the robot into the wall.
I looked up to see Steve on the back of one but soon he is slammed against the wall and tumbles to the ground.
I ran away from the couch I look up and think hard as I look at a robot just passing over me soon it comes crashing to the ground and I bring my heel to its head.

I watched as Steve swung his shield at the last one cutting it in half and the room went silent.

"That was dramatic." Ultron said. "I'm sorry. I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve? With these?" Ultron picked up a destroyed robot, "These puppets." He crushed its head and threw it to the floor. "There's only one path to peace. The Averagers' extinction." Thor threw his Hammer smashing Ultron to the wall.

"I had strings, but now I'm free." Ultron spoke before his light went out.

"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch." Banner explained as we all stood in the lab.

"Ultron." Steve said quietly.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Nat said.

"He's in your files, he's in the Internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodes suggests.

   "Nuclear codes." Hill said.

"Nuclear codes." Rhodes repeated. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can."

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Nat said.

"He didn't say 'dead.' He said 'extinct'." Steve corrected.

"It was kinda implied." I say.

"He also said he killed somebody." Clint said.

"There wasn't anyone else in the building." Hill told us.

"Yes, there was." Tony said turning on a orange hologram in the centre of the room. It was supposed to be JARVIS but was destroyed.

"What?" Banner breathed as he walked over to it. "This is insane."

"JARVIS was the first line of defence." Steve said. "He would have shut Ultron down. It makes sense."

"No. Ultron could have assimilated JARVIS. This isn't strategy. This is rage." Banner said just as Thor angrily walked in lifting Tony up by his throat.

   "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Steve said.

   "It's going around." Clint said.

"Come on, use your words, buddy." Tony said.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor told him.

"Thor. The Legionnaire." Steve told Thor and his tossed Tony to the ground.

"Trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed north. And it has the scepter." Thor explained and now I understand why he was angry with Tony. "Now we have to retrieve it, again."

"Genie's out of that bottle." Nat spoke. "Clear and present is Ultron."

"I don't understand." Dr. Cho said looking at the smashed body of Ultron, "You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?"

Tony started to chuckle like her question was funny.

"You think this is funny?" Thor asked.

"No. It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. Is it so..." Tony laughs, "Is it so... It is. It's so terrible."

"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor told Tony.

"No. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony said stepping close to Thor.

"What are you talking about?" I ask confused.

"Tony, maybe this might not be the time." Banner called.

"Really? That's it? You just roll over, show your belly every time somebody snarls?" Tony said turning to Banner.

"Only when I've created a murder bot." Banner said.

"We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?" Tony asked.

"Well, you did something right. And you did it right here." Steve said, "The Avengers were supposed to be different than S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony brought up.

"No, it's never come up." Rhodes shook his head.

"Saved New York?" Tony added.

"Never heard that." Rhodes denied.

"Recall that?" Tony asked, "A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but that up there, that's... That's the Endgame. How were you guys planning on beating that?"

"Together." Steve answered.

"We'll lose." Tony said stepping closer to Steve.

"Then we'll do that together, too." Steve told him and Tony walked away from him. "Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller."
